how long is noa2 good for?

Once you get the NOA2 for the I-130, how long is it good for? Is there a drop dead can't use it have to refile date?

12/28/06 - got married :)

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

I don't recall there being an expiration on my NOA2... but once the NVC contacts you, if you don't respond within one year they will close your file - I'm not sure if they just send it back to the USCIS or what.

NOA1: 5-10-2006----updated w/ citizenship: 9-25-06----had to call back 10/25, touch 10/26

12/06/06 - Approved!- - - 12/08/06 - Touch---01/25/07 - Touch

I130 at NVC

12/14/06 - case number assigned

12/25/06 - DS3032 & AOS Fee Bill Mailed (phone system updated 12/27)

12/27/06 - emailed choice of agent; 12/29/06 - received email from NVC confirming choice of agent!

01/01/07 - NVC generated IV Fee Bill (postmarked 1/17 though!)

01/03/07 - returned AoS Fee Bill via Priority Mail (James' shortcut)

01/15/07 - NVC generated AOS package

01/22/07 - received IV Fee Bill - overnighted back to NVC same day

01/27/07 - recieved I864 package; 01/29/07 - overnighted I864 to NVC

01/29/07 - DS230 generated (phone system not updated, email response 2/5/07)

02/05/07 - mailed DS-230 to NVC via express mail

02/20/07 - CASE COMPLETE!!

04/18/07 - INTERVIEW!!!! - APPROVED!!!!

Michael's K-3:

09/28/06 - NOA1

1/25/07 - approved ...NOA2 via snail mail - 1/29/07

03/16/07 - chose not to return packet 3 to Montreal

Oh ok thanks! We have to wait for some info for the D230 and I'm still trying to decide whether to bother with the I129F or not. Basically I wonder if it's better to have the wait be on the NVC side and go for the I130 since we need to wait for some info anyways or do I go with the K3 and then have the wait be on the embassy side for the D230 for the I129F.

The NOA2 says it "expires" in 4 months, but the reality is the Consulate can extend your NOA2 indefinitely. My case took 13 months to get an interview at the consulate and I had no trouble. Don't panic when you see the 120 day "expiration"

But I wonder if it matters who is the delayer......if it's the gov't then I can see why they wouldn't push the issue but if it is me holding things up because I don't have the answer to a particular question yet, they might just make us go back to square one.
