I'm pretty sure punching a police officer in the face is a crime.

If the person who just punched the police officer in the face is running away; is the cop just supposed to sit in his car and call for back up? How will he know where the face puncher is? If he starts chasing the face puncher, and he, the face puncher, turns back around and comes at the police officer, what should he do? Should the officer turn and run away, should he just let the face puncher keep punching him? What does he do while he's waiting for backup?

You pursue the suspect with your weapon drawn and say freeze. You don't gun them down if the suspect is running because your life is no longer in danger.

They should call for back up. Just because you think you can't beat up a criminal doesn't give you the right just to shoot them.

Let's not forget, he didn't know he had committed a crime at the time.

But as Johnson and Brown walked down the middle of Canfield Drive, they encountered Wilson’s police cruiser. Wilson testified he told the pair to move to the sidewalk, prompting a vulgar response from Brown. “It was a very unusual and not expected response from a simple request,” Wilson told the grand jury.

Then, Wilson noticed the cigarillos in Brown’s hand. The store clerk had reported the robbery earlier that morning. Wilson identified Brown and Johnson as potential suspects.

“When I start looking at Brown, first thing I notice is in his right hand, his hand is full of cigarillos. And that’s when it clicked for me because I now saw the cigarillos, I looked in my mirror, I did a doublecheck that Johnson was wearing a black shirt, these are the two from the stealing,” Wilson testified.

He reversed his car in a bid to cut off the pair’s path. At that point, Wilson and Brown engaged in the fatal altercation that led to endless debate and prompted months of protests against Ferguson Police. Johnson testified Wilson initiated physical contact, that he never saw Brown throw a punch and that Brown was outside the police cruiser when Wilson shot him.

By the way, I know what you're talking about. In most of the pictures, it looks like the officers face is mostly red cheeked - it definitely doesn't look like he was in a fight. But, I did one time see pictures that were higher quality; there was definite bruising on his face down to his chin. I assume these are the pictures the grand jury saw.

If I was a cop and getting my ####### beat, I'd pull out my PR-24 or ASP. For me to pull out a gun and take someone's life, that's a last resort. But I wasn't there, and neither was anyone else here.

The white policeman said that, which renders it racist and devoid of any truth whatsoever.

ASP or PR-24. That's what it's used for. One hit to the solar plexus, you're not getting back up for a while. Crack someone over the head with it, see how much fight is left in them. Go for the upper thigh. They drop like a stone. I've been trained in these things. A police officer has more training that me.

Again, the Grand Jury thing. I know that's a difficult read, but it contains testimony of the officer and witnesses. The findings of the Grand Jury were that officer Wilson did nothing wrong. However, Michael Brown was found to be the author of his own demise.

Michael Brown and fellow thug were walking in the middle of the street. He failed to obey a law enforcement officer. Instead of moving his fat behind to the side of the road and getting out of the way of traffic, he and the chip on his shoulder decided to assault the officer. From start to finish the entire incident took about 90-seconds.

Forget the grand jury testimony though. Hands up, don't shoot! The prez will back you up.

Do they steal cigars, assault store clerks, and punch cops as well?

What about if the person doesn't freeze, but instead turns and charges you? What if you know that the person is physically stronger than you and there is no way you can stop him from taking your gun? All you have in your hand is your gun because, well, remember the bad guy tried to take it from him earlier. What can the officer do? Just run away and hope backup gets there?

You don't shoot people for running away. Sorry, not a qualifier.
