Anyone have some words of encouragement for me today? I feel like I am at my breaking point.

Yesterday I sent my AOS and IV documents priority express next day service which had a guaranteed delivery by 12pm today, or money back. The package arrived at the Portsmouth post office by 10:43 this morning. I was thinking that it would be cutting it close on delivery by 12pm, but since the NVC is only about a 15 minute drive from the post office, I thought there would be a chance. At 11:05am I received a notice that it was delivered and signed for, however the signature was very generic, just said N Visa Center. Here's the part that is frustrating, it also says that the delivery date has been updated from today to December 18th. Typically when a package arrives at the post office, it transitions from "Arrived at post office" to "out for delivery" before being delivered. It did not this time. The fact that the delivery date changed and there was never an update stating the package ever left for delivery, it leads me to believe that someone at the post office signed off on it being delivered, just to prevent having to issue me a refund.

In calling USPS, they tell me the system shows it was delivered and there is nothing to be done. There is also no explanation as to why the delivery date was updated from today to tomorrow. I'm sure calling NVC to ask about the package is pointless at this time as even if it was delivered, I'm sure they would not have opened it yet. I am so seriously frustrated right now!

Were you able to find yours??

Soloenta.... So happy for you. We all deserve good news, but I don't know of anyone who deserves it more!!! I hope for a speedy interview date for you and a very short AP!!

So I have some good news as well. Our interview was Dec 1, but we weren't approved right away because my husband had some previous issues with his visitor visa that we knew could be a problem. So i didn't post anything because it all felt really scary and uncertain and I wasn't ready to share. But now....

My husband received an email today that said his VISA WAS PRINTED and HE CAN PICK IT UP FRIDAY!!!

I can hardly believe it and my husband won't believe it until the Visa is in hand (actually until he's through POE). Thanks to this entire community for their knowledge and support. We literally could not have done it without the information and support of Visa Journey. I am so glad that I learned of this site.

COngratulations!!

It was about time right?! What a great Xmas present! :) :)

I'm sorry you're passing through it. My best opinion is to not freacking out yet...wait and call on Friday evening to check if the package was scanned and ask for the date. With that you can have an estimate on when the package was actually delivered (it takes 1 to 2 days from the day it was delivered to the scan date).

Good luck and I hope you hear good news soon!

I know the feeling...I purposely did not read a lot or post on here because of my mood. Spent the day crying off on on ...so many mixed emotions. Happy for everyones CC and desperate for my own .Plus the only friend that I have here in Holland left the country for the States today. They sailed through NVC with no checklist...I am so happy for them yet feel left behind and down. The holidays arent helping any.

All I can say is hang in there and let yourself experience the feelings .Cry it out and find a punching bag lol.

Just want you know that you are not alone.

Thanks! I was hoping it would have been scanned in by Friday that's why I sent it to them overnight. The other option didn't get it to them until the afternoon on Friday. I'm afraid next week they will be working with a skeleton crew since it is Christmas week.

I guess I just need to take a couple of deep breaths.

Remember your support thread (us!)

We are here with you and going through your emotions - I know we would all wish and pray that we could celebrate right now but I find looking at what could have happened (which is smooth instead of bumpy) doesn't change anything. Emotions will fly and that's okay - keeping everything inside really makes it worse and eventually we all are human and melt down.

Sending you lots of hugs Virtual-Hug.gifand sending tons to all of my fellow VJ'ers who are battling the checklists - I know that sinking feeling and I'm there with you to support!!

My dear please take heart and don't assume the worse please, try and call them first. Remember we are all here for one another. It could be a mistake for all you will know. NO MATTER WHAT, THIS PEOPLE WILL SITE ON OUR HAPPINESS

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

Today is my birthday....and i was hoping to find "issued" on our case...but still in AP....I will not cry i will be optimistic....eventhough my heart breaks inside....No husband here, no daddy for our kids, no other family except Gramma, Thank God for Gramma....only birthday wishes on fb....i swear i want to delete everybody....why can't i have the only person in the world who loves me....??? Why do they make me wait....I am alone without my Love .....the embassy does not care about us....another Christmas will come and go with no one to kiss under the mistletoe...191 days in AP....seriously I'm so mad...and yes, crying....for my husband....I HATE THIS PART OF THE PROCESS!!! :ranting:

I'm so sorry you're passing through it! Just the thought of your pain hurts me too, so it might be really hard your position right now.

All I can tell you is that I've learned that EVEYTHING in live will pass...specially sadness and pain.

Sometimes when you're with a very bad flu, in bed, and you think "how does it feel to feel healthy?!"and then you recover your health and can't imagine how it feels to be sick...so it's life. Once this pain is over and you're finally with your husband, you won't remeber how it feels and how it hurts. So hold on it and believe that this sorrow is about to change for better.

And happy birthday, btw! :);)

Hello! I see that you are going to fight NVC's decision which is good! I really hope they fix this mistake on their part right away! Keep us posted :)

My dear please take heart and don't assume the worse please, try and call them first. Remember we are all here for one another. It could be a mistake for all you will know. NO MATTER WHAT, THIS PEOPLE WILL SITE ON OUR HAPPINESS

Thanks all! Sometimes it's just so hard not to get discouraged. I will try to locate my patience that has gone MIA for the last week. Insha'Allah, everything will be fine, the package will get delivered eventually, and I can begin the 60 day countdown...

If it wasn't for you all and this forum, I think I may have gone "postal" by now. Hahaha!

Your darn Toot'in I'm fighting this - I'm also taking on precaution as well and re-sending my AOS form with a nice black 'X' in the box they claim I didn't submit. That way I have the supervisor reviewing and I'll have my documents resent tomorrow am by next day delivery so hopefully the NVC will receive the package by Friday at the latest (although coming for Switzerland it sometimes takes an additional day).

This has really put a toll on us - Can anyone tell me when they receive checklist packages if they just look at the areas of error (like they'll just check out part 6 item 12 for mine) and nothing else? Is everything else okay when they issue the checklist for the AOS or will they re-look at all of the other pages once again?

Thanks - lets hope it doesn't come to it but I'm making sure that I have all of my t's crossed and my i's dotted.

Beautifully stated mofatsd!

guys, I'd like to remember you ALL with CC or checklists to please update your timeline and also Saylin's spreadsheets (for the ones who put data on it). These tools were amazingly helpful for us so let's keep it also helpful for future users. ;)
