I am so frustrated. I got checklisted in October.. I corrected the really minor error.( didnt realize it was significant). NVC received my corrected checklist on 10/23... To be honest, I feel drained. Wife is crying everyday, I feel like I have been at the NVC for centuries.. I really hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel

Hey there...I'm so sorry about your frustration and your wife's sadness...we are all here to support each other so the best thing I can tell you is:yes, there's light in the end of the tunnel. I've seen people here with all kinds of stories here who made through their visa journeys, and there are some others who are waiting in line, and believe me the sun shines to everyone. Soon your scan date will start to be reviewed and all the pain and suffering will only be a memory of the days which built you, your wife and your relationship stronger. Because a marriage that can pass through this kind of pain can handle any kind of thing and has such a unique beautiful story to tell. So hang in there, 'coz soon we'll all be breathing better. :)

We lived in Hurghada straight across to Asyuit on the Nile just to give you where to look. Yes it was the wind that made it tolerable for my husband and I was dying every day Actually winter was mild we even needed a heater some nights. :D Wondering where you spend your honeymoon might have beenSharm El Sheikh? It was very calm there with not many people not like Cairo. If God willing I can go so I can accompany my husband back to the USA I want to visit Alexandria I didn't get a chance last time and I pray this time I can. It's been my life long dream to visit there. My husband almost got a job there but the company went belly up.

Heck I left the next day that I arrived in Minnesota and I'm not ashamed to say it. Literally thought I was going to die. Hahahaa I agree with the running then running back in your going to have to buy him a little trophy to present to him when he runs back in. :Dsmileys-happy-715315.gif

The thing I love so much about California is I'll be able to take my husband to the snow or beach or even Mexico. Mountains about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away, beach depending on traffic 30 mins to 1 hour and Mexico about maybe 3 hours away then there is San Francisco which I love 8 hour drive and Iove driving. :D

"Hahaha! Both our husbands ideas of cold are probably around 75 degrees fahrenheit.", I think your being way to kind hahahaa boy nice to talk to someone that can understand those crazy Egyptians Hahahaaa. My husband would laugh so much when I told him Egyptians are crazy because they refuse to walk on the sidewalk . I had to close my eyes when I crossed the street with my husband hahaa really crazy stuff. :Dt5063.gif

We flew into Sharm, and then drove an additional hour to the small town, Dahab. Most breathtaking place I have ever been. It was so hard to leave, I think we will be looking for a vacation home there.

You must visit Alexandria if you get to go back to accompany your husband. It's a beautiful city. I swear I'm not just saying that because most of my and my husband's family live there. There is just something so charming about it. I don't even know how to explain it. Sometimes it can be just as busy as Cairo, but it doesn't have the same hectic feel like Cairo. Every time I have to travel to Cairo I get so tense, as soon as we cross back into the Alexandria Governorate my body immediately relaxes.

As for the crazy Egyptians and their preference to walk in the street, I think it's because half the time people have illegal business stands set up on the sidewalks or you never know when someone will dump a bucket of water over their balcony. It's easier to walk in the street than zigzag all over the place.

To sum up crossing the streets of Egypt, human version of the game frogger. Hahaha!

Never been to the Sinai but would love to go just not now ;). I love Hurghada just wish there were more tress then it would be perfect. I loved my time in Egypt I Love the people and you'll think me crazy but I love Cairo also. I was never stressed unless I had to cross a street hahaaa. I also adopted two kittens two Egyptian Mau's a brought back with me. Boy are they special and I wish more people would adopt them, they are so intelligent and it doesn't cost much to bring them back just Rabies vaccination and a Vets certificate of health, about a $200 dollar plane ticket and your good to go. :D It cost me $500 to get one rescue cat from Kentucky to California. I named one Haifa and the other Yasmin and yes she is a gift from God. ;) , Haifa is my husbands baby and Yasmin is mine. :D.

I'm going to do my best to get there, I'm planning on selling my car I have another so it wont be a big deal. I hope I sell it once I put it up for sale I can dream of Alexandria. Then I'll be good, my husband wanted to pay for my ticket but we need the money and I don't need the car. :D

I hope you know I mean crazy Egyptians in a loving way not a bad one? I never knew about the water being thrown out the window and have never seen it happen while I was there so I was totally clueless until now. t5063.gif

Sweet heart I suggest you post it at Saylin's http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/524875-nvc-filers-december-2014/ and send her a private message see which one is quicker I think a personal message from my experience. I'm horrible at the AOS don't want to mess you up. I'll be praying you find the answer's very soon. Hope someone here can help you also.

So after Pat got a CC I decided to scratch the itch and give a call...

Thankfully I got a great, very nice guy who was thankfully chatty (works to my advantage!) - He said that we should be looking at a next week CC if all goes well (and then he did go into the downer of it being the holidays and how everything sloooows way down during Christmas because they are way understaffed). He did let the little secret out that he'd been working there for 2 years now and that mine and apparently another Swissie whose applied for their green card were the first ones he'd seen from Switzerland. He said because there isn't a lot of requests for my country that can help speed process up as well since they don't have to go through tough background checks (sorry to all of you that do fit into that category...heart goes out to you!!).

Let's have hope he's right and his 2 year experience will work in our favor. I will seriously dance around my house for hours until I pass out when I see that big beautiful CC!!

Someone on the other thread received a CC on 12/08 with checklist scan date of 10/24 for an EB3 visa (not IR1/CR1 like us). So i guess NVC is all over the place. I don't think this is indicative that they are working on the third week yet but hopefully it all comes by end of week! :)

I'm pretty sure Mofat (yup i know i butchered it), you, Soloenta, e&g and I will be able to freak out and obsess together! Woohoo! ha-ha

I just called NVC and spoke with Karla. She told me:

-No interview scheduled yet for us

- They have already finished scheduling interviews for the first part of January 2015.

- They will be scheduling round 2 of interviews starting next week.

So I guess we will need to wait until next week to find out IF we get a January interview. :clock:

SOLOENTA..........Praying you get CC soon! We got our CC right at 60 day mark but I remember alot of people with checklist got CC before their 60day mark. Good luck my friend!

Awww thank you sweet heart, I have a very dear friend lives in the UK and all I can say is when isn't it cold and raining. Plus things are so expensive it's just not right. Wish we could send you some sunshine. :) Keep warm and dry my friend. t5063.gifsmiley-taking-christmas-tree-emoticon.gi

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,
