Oh and just to add to my post (I really need to get off of here and clean my house!!):

- Family lives around the East Coast and that's primarily the reason for us moving. We can't take any more $3,000-4,000 flight bill for all of us jumping and seeing them. We are from the US and Americans drive to their family!!

- I hate the cold as well, but I'm well equipped with snow jackets to keep my tootsies warm - I even have one that I call the 'Eskimo' jacket - it goes all the way down to the my ankles!! :wow:

- As far as Checklists vs. actual submissions - here's my decoder on it: Checklists were 60 days plus another 60 days and I think their goal is to get the checklists down to only an additional 30 day wait - they are getting hit with tons of checklists and putting them under the pile of filers is just going to make them more backlogged, especially if its just a new AOS sheet that puts 2 instead of 1 down on the total family households. They want to bring the backlog down and the easiest way to do that is make sure that the new AOS papers are corrected only in the required area and push them along the way (which of course is what I want to happen in your case!!)

Haha sadly I have two children that take up most of my cash that's in the bank - living here ain't no joke - it's waaaay over priced and to do any 'extra-curricular' activities with the kids...well...needless to say there goes any money for mommy to go on her wild shopping sprees (and unfortunately most of my shopping sprees include new vaccum heads, more flour to bake the cookies to send to school, ect...)

I know I'd probably get an interview quick after the approval - I saw on here that it takes up to one month but I talked to a consulate official and he said that as soon as the approval from NVC comes then we should be able to get an interview scheduled pretty quick. I'm hoping no too too quick as we are going to do the medical with the vaccinations together as it will be double the amount to get vaccinations done separately (see we are cheap and living here!!)

Well my dear Solenta, there are many unfortunate 'really really REALLY' rich folks in the US that are trying to stash their money here because of the laws that prohibit the US from knowing how much US money is in the accounts. Apparently if you make a certain amount and are not living in Switzerland you can get full amnesty for just throwing your money here...and trust me, there are a lot of 'personal' banks that are here where money is still being siphoned away. You know US, gotta make that money before another economic slump hits (i.e. when Obama gets shoo'ed outta office).

I'm glad you called for all of us. I just didn't want to seem eager and as it's only my 46th day. I think at 50 I'll give up the act and just call and then tell myself I told you so when they tell me to wait. I'd love to see how they would react if the reps were told that they have to wait 60 minutes when they really had to pee. Some would in fact pee themselves and then we could sit back and tell them "well that's kinda how we feel!" lol.

Your lucky your in Switzerland at least for coming back to the USA is concerned and getting an interview date thank God. I'm sure they would give you time for the medical and what that's two weeks I think to get the results back. Oh and isn't it cheaper to go to the clinic to get your vaccinations?

I don't blame them to be honest, in the UK you win the lotto the government doesn't take a dime in the USA they take 40% and it not mistaken than another 35% when you actually get the check not sure if Federal or State it's just outrageous what will I do when I win the lotto :(smileys-money-287793.gif picgifs-angry-sad-upset-5211191.gif

I have to do the same today, I've been lazy lately, not a good thing. :(

Oh my that is expensive don't blame you and it's good to be close to family, not only good but important. :) Nice a coat all the way down to your ankles sound nice. I traveled once to see a GF of mine in Minnesota lost my jacket in the airport and OMG I thought I was going to die from the cold. I don't think my jacket would have actually helped much at all. I can't live in a place that cold or one that's too hot so I'll stay put until I can more to Quito or Cuenca :D temps are perfect there.

Ok now I understand and makes perfect sense. Still I'm over the 30 days so they must not be at that point yet. Will just have to wait as usual. :D Ty my friend. t5063.gif

Yeah, about the medical, I also got vaccinations ahead of time - make sure to check which ones are actually necessary so you don't spend any more money than you need to (many depend on age/risk factors/etc so the actual list is shorter).

I did the medical ahead of time because I had time off while my wife visited (don't want to give up my job until I have to!)... it took almost 8 hours! But they gave me the results at the end of the day. The only thing was you needed to get an appointment at least a week ahead of time (I guess they have exceptions for emergencies though).

Soloenta How are you and everyone today, thanks a lot for the kid worlds. i call them today, still no good news. have to wait 60 days. my 60 days will be next. hopefully it will not go pass the 60 days and we will all get out of the dark tunnel and go into the light by his grace.

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

This made me laugh so hard! I grew up in Minnesota and have lived here most of my life, I still feel like I will die from hypothermia every time winter comes. My husband is sooooooooo excited to live in Minnesota, he can't wait to play with snow and have, "cooler" weather to run in. Hahahahaha! I almost died of laughter, because we argued for two days over whether or not he will be able to run outside during the winter months. I finally gave up and told him Insha'Allah, quietly followed by, you won't break your a** falling on the ice. Hahaha! I guess he'll just have to find out for himself.

I had my interview today. They lost our joint sponsor's documents. I m soooo pissed off I can't explain it. They kept my passport and said we will issue u the visa in a week or two max after we get the AOS form and transcript from the sponsor. Nvc lost it and we have to pay the price. It's just ridiculous really. They hardly asked me anything at the interview though. Just two qs that was it arranged marriage or love. And have u traveled outside Pakistan before. The lady was v polite though. So I don't have anything bad to say about Islamabad embassy. But Nvc sucks big time!

You dodged the AP bullet and that alone is worth celebrating. Just make sure hubby sends you a scan of the new AOS so you could verify accuracy and completeness before he sends in the original.

Good Morning fellow scan date'ers! ;)

So there is only me on this thread with Switzerland being the country - so hopefully they will get me in to the interview as quickly as possible!! I think the reviewer is probably looking at my papers going, "what the heck?? Switzerland" - Perhaps ol' Uncle Sam will get greedy and want to steal as much money from Switzerland as possible (after that whole problem with US wanting to know what US citizens have in Swiss bank accounts uproar)...We had to sign so many papers that stated when I left here I would have to close down everything connected to Swiss accounts and bring it with me (since US wants to tax foreign bank accounts)...little do they know I haven't much in there to tax anyways!! :jest:

I'm really tempted to call...even though I know they are only on the 14th of October. If I would have seen closer scan dates (original scan dates, not checklists) then I would be more keen on calling. I think at the current moment only chance I have at getting a good answer is getting that lovely lady I used to talk to every morning trying to figure out all the questions I needed to complete my paperwork - She always was so kind and I completely forgot her name!!

Anyways, I have a feeling they take the first few days of the week to review the paperwork and then start giving out CC's at the end of the week - I have seen this pattern go on for a couple of weeks now - it takes until around Wed or Thursday at the earliest to start hearing a wave of info from people that have had their papers scanned.

P.S. I'm on this thread, the other thread, FB, and I've been looking at a few outside sources as well to figure out where they are at the current moment...but not the Interview thread!! JC looks like you won the award!!

Good luck today!!

Morning! :)

Hahaha, I'm hoping the same for Argentina... even though I know there are probably a lot of people that just aren't on VJ, haha. I thought it would be just me when I went to do the medical, but to my surprise there were like 15 other people there that day! (It's only done once a week, though. Also I think most of them were for other visa categories... we met the sweetest old lady there, she waited almost 15 years for a visa from her sibling!)

That's crazy about the bank accounts. It's a pretty hot topic in Argentina as well, with the investigations and everything. Don't be modest now mofatsd, we all know everyone in Switzerland has MILLIONS in the bank!

At this point I believe you'll only get the 60 day script if you call (unless you see that magical N/A), but hey, nothing to lose. Do report back if you call! I also have that feeling that Thursday/Friday definitely come with more CCs. It was the same way for the NOA2.

I also started "stalking" the members on the October list for updates/last log in date. Oct-15 member just had a CC!!! (Checklist review, but still.) Oh dear I hope this is over soon. Good luck today to all of us!

Ha! I think we're all going a little mad at this point! lol

 God's timing is always perfect. . . :star:"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" (Luke 1:45) ^_^

Someone in the interview thread posted that the rep told them there will be a second round of interviews past mid-December. I hope this is true for all embassies. By the way, the comment was in regards to Egypt. Seems Egypt has not started scheduling yet.

This is amazing news for Soloenta!!! :) I'm super glad. Hopefully it's the case for all embassies! I guess I have no idea when BA normally schedules anyway...
