Called again today.

Previously, as in 27th of November and until now, I have been told that my case has NOT been reviewed.

Today, a rep tells me that my care was reviewed on the 25th and it's now sitting with a supervisor and it can take up to 42 days until I hear anything.

How the ** is this possible????????

I waited 60 days, given the runaround. Not one update.

And now on day 64 I am being told I gotta wait an additional 42 days. For what??

I am so frustrated and just at a loss. I think I will just use my tourist visa and wait this out with my husband. I can't take it.

42 days seems to be their standard answer. It apparently takes 42 days just to be assigned a freaking case number right now. That's what they're telling me right now. They're so frustrating.

so today (4 am my time) I called up NVC hoping that I'd maybe hear them say they have our case with them but just have to wait for the number... but.......... the lady said that the case will arrive in 5 WEEKS. .... FIVE WEEKS?

is this normal?

It took 22 days for them to receive our case from Nebraska after NOA2. Nebraska claimed our case left their premises four and a half to five days after NOA2. I FIRMLY believe that NVC receives batches of cases and lets them sit in crates somewhere and only scans them as received on their own sweet time so they can spread out their receiving dates and make it look like actual processing is taking less time.

They're screwing us all over.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

I'm so very sorry about your grandfather, it just never seems to end does it. Every step forward some of us take three steps back, God willing nothing more will go wrong. I know the feeling of being so tired you can't even think or reason and when I for one lay down sometimes I can't even close my eyes.

I'm wondering if putting your grandfather on a memory foam thick pad would avoid or minimize the wounds? Would relieve the pressure I'm sure.

Oh I know about Egyptian's well live there for almost 2 wonderful years, I'm Catholic and they were always so kind to me never a bad look or angry word. The media is to blame for all the suspicion and I'll say it racist views of Muslims. I was in Egypt when during a lot of the turmoil and it was nothing like the media said it was, they over blew everything possible. They once said the Muslims were killing Christians and it was a feud between two families nothing to do with the general public.

My husband for one is an angel, you would have to ask him if he's upset because you wouldn't be able to tell hahahahaa he's so precious. God willing all this will change one day when people learn the truth. t5063.gif

Thank you dear. I'll look into getting one of those memory foam mattresses pads.

All I can say right now is alhamdulillah, if I didn't have my husband and Skype, I would have had a complete meltdown by now. Seeing his face and hearing his words of encouragement daily are what keep me going.

Hi All,

So, unfortunately I realized I made a mistake on my I-864 form and I need to resend it. The question is, should I just make a cover letter and included the correct I-864 and the receipt for AOS fee? Or do I need to resend the whole application?

Basically, when you get a checklist, do they ask you to send everything again? Or do they just ask you to send the relevant document?

Also, does anyone have a good example of a cover letter I can use as a template?

Thanks!

Did you see a status update online on the USCIS site or did you just wait for the welcome letter from the NVC? It would be nice if I don't really have to wait for that long but at the same time relived as the AOS paperwork is scaring the bajeezus out of me! haha. :D So I have more time to mentally prepare I guess. I'll see this as a blessing in disguise then!

I GOT A CHECKLIST!!!! ????

???????????

Why oh why????

Oh noooooooo!

I'm so so so sorry for you! That sucks...when we received our freacking checklist my husband almost fell apart...I've never seen him so sad in my whole life with him! And it was because of something he forgot, so he was really hard on himself. My heart is with you to go through it strong and get out of this hell hole as soon as possible.

Ps. What was the checklist for?

Ok guys, I want to let you know my experience about my POE (JFK) last Saturday. Everything went so smoothly.

Once I arrived to JFK, I proceeded to a first immigrants room where I waited for the officer to finish a 4 members family paperwork.

When it was my turn (after ten minutes waiting), it went really fast.

The officer did the paperwork only in 10 minutes. He took my fingerprints, picture and signature for the GC very quickly and stamped my passport without asking anything regarding either the money I carried or if I was bringing any food...

The easiest experience ever!!

I still had plenty of time to catch my connection flight to SFO.

Big congrats! That sounded really smooth! hope you have a great time in your new home and making worth every second with your loved one!

Cheers!

Hello! I got the dreaded checklist today...

My mistake on my co-sponsors I-864 was that I put the "wages, salaries, tips" total instead of the total income

"In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...
[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal
income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead."

I see my mistake BUT because that # is wrong for the for the most recent tax year that means so is "Part 6: 5 current individual annual income" AND "Part 6: 10 current annual household income" because they are all affected by the same total income # BUT the checklist only recognizes 1 of those 3 incorrect numbers...I feel like I shouldn't change anything on the forms that they didn't checklist but if it doesn't match it is incorrect...OH WHAT TO DO!?!

Plus, I realize now that I put the "wages, salaries, tips" total instead of the total income on all 3 most recent tax years, but I only included the tax return transcript for 2013 so many that's why the other 2 years didn't get a checklist? but now I know they are incorrect as well!

I'm not sure If I should follow a "don't volunteer information they didn't ask for" approach or include some kind of letter explaining this?!? but something tells me i might be a bad idea to say too much! I just don't want to make sure I do this right or else I'll be so stressed for ANOTHER 60 days!

I'D BE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR HELP!

Hi all

What a week. One days notice for interview and then two days later Visa is in my hand. It is over. Thank you Sydney.

Words cannot express my thanks to all my Visa Journey friends. You have all been amazing. Whilst I may be finished with it all my thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you. Let's not get complacent just because I am done. A few weeks ago I was in your position.

Thank you Saylin for your constant support and advice and for donating so much of your time.

I will check back here to see how you are all going but for the next few days I need to concentrate on the million and one things I need to do to get myself, two children and two dogs ready to leave Australia in 13 days. Couldn't risk anything happening to the boys, Elvis and Casper so we are using a professional animal transportation firm. The kids and I - well we can just rough it!!

Love to you all.

Thanks!

Send the whole I-864 every sheet needs to be there even it looks like you should omit it. I would send it as if it weremy first one. I think Saylin has a template her link is on my first post. Good luck ot you. :)t5063.gif

Well im still at NVC!! :dancing::dancing: I got a case complete last week and no interview yet, i know im in a better position now, but why it is to hard to do all in one, like yeah heres its your CC and your interview you can sleep at night now dear.. but nooo!! Anyways lets just keep praying for positive and exciting things to come we deserve it :goofy:

Soon sweet heart very soon. :Dsmiley-happy093.gif

Praying someone can help you, I would only mess you up. smiley-happy093.gif

Debra xxx

smiley-happy093.gif Woooooooo Hooooooo we will miss you but it's for a good cause so we shall suffer until you get back to you. So happy for you my sweet friend and thank you for the prayers we really need them! smiley-happy093.gif t5063.gif
