I guess the NVC isn't feeling the holiday spirit. We submitted everything - including the paper DS-260 which the NVC specifically requested - and paid all the fees back in AUGUST. Then two months later, the NVC says oops sorry we actually want you to submit it the DS-260 electronically. So we did on October 30. We were hoping for case complete 60 days later AKA any day now. Instead, today I get an email with a checklist. This process has been hard but today I hit rock bottom emotionally. I'm so frustrated and angry.

They are asking for a photocopy of "the applicant's court or prison records indicating the nature of this person's conviction or sentence." My husband has never been to court and has never been convicted or sentenced. He was arrested once because his friend punched someone and the cops arrested everyone who was there because they didn't know who threw the punch. Literally no charges were ever even brought against my husband. We already SENT the NVC the police record of this. So now what are they requesting, does anyone know? How can I show a document describing something that never happened???

Worst Christmas ever.

Wow, that's bazar. I was arrested for a similar issue no charges pressed but I never got a checklist for it. but I also included a letter from my state police dept. for my criminal record, saying I was never convicted or sentenced. I think that's what you need but double check with NVC... I know how you feel, it sucks when NVC does that... but think of it that it's temporarily and you will get your CC.

No. Montreal is finished with January interviews and won't begin scheduling for February until the 5th of January, from what I understand. I am hoping for a mid-Feb interview date, and I have to schedule a medical for the same trip, as I cannot afford two separate trips to Montreal.

They told me that January is done and I am hoping for Early Feb interview as my case was complete on DEC 19. How do you find out which clinic to schedule the medical ? Is there a place you go and check?

There is a list of panel physicians on the Canada portal. I am pretty sure if you check your country's portal here on VJ, the folks there can guide you. We can't schedule the medical until we have the interview letter from our consulate.

I found this on the NVC website...

"Does the NVC review Affidavit of Support forms for petitions filed at a post (embassy or consulate) abroad?

No, the NVC reviews only Affidavit of Support forms for petitions filed in the United States with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

If the consular officer says the applicant needs a joint sponsor, does the joint sponsor send the I-864 to the NVC for review?

No. If the post asks for a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor must send the completed I-864 directly to the applicant. The applicant will submit the I-864 to the consular officer for review."

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support/i-864-frequently-asked-questions.html

Does this mean we take the additional I864 from the joint sponsor to the interview? So I don't need to submit to NVC again?

.

Anyone?

I have received duplicate emails from them before. I think it is just a system glitch.

Hi there,

I've been checking our case status on the CEAC site every day. We already sent in both AoS and IV packages, paid IV fees on 12/25/14, and is now waiting for the application form (DS-261) to become available for me (the beneficiary) to fill out.

Below is a screen shot of what the status is as at the time of typing post. Can someone please help me understand what its saying, so I don't miss anything. I want to make sure I'm not missing any important data as it relates to my case. Thanks
