In I-864, on part 4 question 11c, if i'm a naturalized US citizen, then I have to check 11a "I am a US Citizen". Should I also fill in my Alien number for 11c since I did have one before becoming US Citizen? or can I leave 11c blank or write "N/A" ?

As I know A# is for lifetime...so you should fill it. Your A# is in your naturalization certificate also.

It would be great if some can confirm this.

Hi we got a checklist just before Christmas. I am sending inthe requested information inthe next week.

It was also suggested (not mandatory but suggested) to have a joint sponsor as we are using assets at the moment because we both live in Australia.

We have a joint sponsor lined up and I will be going through them with the i864 etc. can we just bring this to the interview instead of going to the NVC with the joint sponsor or does it HAVE to go to NVC first? I could send in my extra info and we will get to interview stage. Can we hold onto the joint sponsor i864 until the interview and show the CO or does it have to go to NVC for review.

I'm just worried (annoyed) as if we send to NVC we will need to wait at least 60 days for them to review the joint sponsor sponsor info and that means more time again!!

Thanks and good luck everyone.

I found this on the NVC website...

"Does the NVC review Affidavit of Support forms for petitions filed at a post (embassy or consulate) abroad?

No, the NVC reviews only Affidavit of Support forms for petitions filed in the United States with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

If the consular officer says the applicant needs a joint sponsor, does the joint sponsor send the I-864 to the NVC for review?

No. If the post asks for a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor must send the completed I-864 directly to the applicant. The applicant will submit the I-864 to the consular officer for review."

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support/i-864-frequently-asked-questions.html

Does this mean we take the additional I864 from the joint sponsor to the interview? So I don't need to submit to NVC again?

just a dumb question,

In form I-864, for the date box near the signature, should we hand-write the date or can we print using the computer ? I'm talking about the date box near the signature box in part 8.

Also same question for box "Print Sponsor's name" in Part 8. Should we hand write or print using the computer ?

Thank you in advance

That's actually a good question. I really hope typing works because for both the date, and the "print name" I typed it in, and the only part i hand wrote was my signature. I hope someone can answer this. I already sent in my packages yesterday. I hope this isn't a major deal whether you type/write it in

Put signature and date both with black pen when you sign your form. Other boxes with typeing is fine.

[screenshots attached] Do these amounts have to match in Item 5 and Item 13.a.1 [both in Part -6] or not? Please help!!

If you are self employed, then they have to match. Otherwise, enter your current annual salary in Item 5 and include your last 6 months of paystubs and letter from your employer stating annual salary

If you have a conditional two year green card, you file for removal of conditions (ROC) within the 90 day window before the green card expires (which typically is 2 years from the POE date). Wedding anniversary doesn't matter for ROC.

Item 5 is your current Income which you are making . You may need to submit letter from the Current Employer along with the Pay Stubs. Item 13.a.1 is the total income of the recent tax year which you filed with IRS. This should be total income (Line 22 of form 1040)
