Yeah, I started crying on the phone once as well , but to a supervisor, her name was Sue, God I was embarrassed, but I could tell she felt sooooo bad! She promised to get my checklist reviewed ASAP. Unfortunatelly my senator hasn't been much help. He does respond to my emails asap and he does claim to be in contact with the NVC , but he hasn't been able to speed up anything! NOthing at all! Though, I must admit that I once got a phone call from the NVC saying "we don't want you to think we are ignoring you we just haven't received your checklist on our desk yet to review....this was a froma supervisor....that was after the senator first scalled them....I have heard of people getting expedited after contacting their senators yet mine claims he has no control over the nvc.....I am begging God at this point to just give us a CC by at New year's at least.... :(

Timeline

We discovered our AOS checklist through a phone conversation with an NVC rep last November 28. It was the correction on the usual income part as stated by the rep. We made the correction right away and send the corrected AOS. It was received December 8 that being our new scan date.

Today, we received the checklist email after 3 weeks and thank God it was exactly what the rep said last November 28. It was a blessing the items we need to correct in the AOS as said by the NVC rep back November 28 is the same with today's (December 18) checklist email.

The gamble of sending the corrected OAS without waiting for the checklist email paid off. We could have incurred an additional 3 weeks delay If we waited for the checklist email before sending the corrected AOS.

I was disappointed knowing the error last November 28, but now felt better the rep gave accurate information and had the opportunity to send the correction earlier.

Hope it we get a CC soon. God is really good.

Called NVC today to see what they had as my scan date because when I called on Tuesday, the lady told me Dec 16, but I received an email Wednesday saying Dec 11. Woman on the phone today said that she sees it as Dec 11. Weird part is that the package wasn't even sent until Dec 12, so somehow I got very lucky and got 5 days shaved off my 60 days.

So happy for you! Did I see you had a Dec 11 scan date for checklist documents?! Same as mine #######! How did you manage that?! But I think we sent the wrong things, still need to call NVC which I will try to do tonight (my time).

Mate I'm sorry. I am in the same boat. Read the thing and went "#######! that's not what they told me over the phone!" So I am going to talk to a supervisor tonight.

Sharks

Thank you for your kind words.

My dates are more twisted than Italian pasta....

I called on 26th Nov - first verbal notification of Checklist items (Police Cert and W2's for my wife).

I called on 28th Nov - more verbal info from an NVC agent who was much nicer, listened and gave advice of a signed letter from my wife saying she did not work in US during 2013 and no W2's existed. Well, that information was already included in the submitted Tax Information and on a specific tax Form 2555 (if I recall correctly), but anyway, we obliged and sent this letter which arrived and had a scan date of 11th Dec.

During the time the Checklist items were sent, I called NVC to follow up as to why I had not received any official NVC Checklist via email after almost 3 weeks after review. The NVC agent escalated the case (and call) to a Supervisor to commence the action for the Checklist to be sent.

During this call I spoke to the Supervisor and explained that the information being requested was already clearly explained within the Tax information provided. The Supervisor said she would request to obtain my case and to call back towards the end of the week.

I called Thurs morning and was able to get put through to the same Supervisor. Whilst on this call she completed the review and saw the required information was there, verbally stated Case Completed and to await an email from NVC.

If I have not received an email by Tuesday, I am calling again and chasing up. :-)

I think it was a mix of luck and maybe because of a delay caused by NVC (3 weeks without Checklist email being sent) that my case was escalated to a Supervisor. I then had the opportunity to plead my case in that the information they were requesting was there and I should not wait another 60 days due to NVC failing to see it in the initial review. And maybe I got a really nice Supervisor too......

Good luck for quick processing on your checklist !!

This gives me some hope because the information that they are asking for, I THINK, at least part of it, is already provided (my mother-in-law's W2 etc) and perhaps it just got missed that my parents-in-law are both self employed separately and therefore file a joint tax return reflecting this.

I understand if we have to wait 60 days to review the document upon which we left a field blank. But I don't want to wait another 60 days because at the end of the checklist review time they tell us they're still missing info because of incorrect information given by 2 NVC operators :(

On hold right now. Had quite a few busy signals so I guess I'll be waiting awhile.

Ok no supervisors were available but I talked to a LOVELY rep named Gina who confirmed that even though it LOOKS like what they are asking for is my MIL's W2 etc, they really need my husband's and not hers, and that it looks like they want an i864 for my MIL but they don't they just want the i864a fixed. She apologised profusely for how confusing the wording is of the checklists and said that she talks to people all the time who have similar issues but she assured me that what we sent in is the right thing to send and exactly what they're after, and confirmed to ignore the police certificate thing as well.

I feel relieved. Goodnight (in Australia), everyone. <3

When do you all think you should start calling to see if there has been checklist review..30 days or somewhere much later ?

I've been wondering this too, just incase of a second checklist. My checklist scan date is Nov. 13th (even though it was delivered to NVC on Nov. 7th :ranting: ). I think today is the 37th day of waiting and it appears that most checklists are being around 45-55 days. I might call after the 45th day.

Do we have similar scan dates? I feel like I saw your scan date somewhere. I hope we get a February interview. :clock:

I'm so anxious and depressed -- I can't believe i've put my family in this position. My stupid decision to get my MPhil/PhD means that my 5 year old can't have her daddy with her on Christmas day. I feel like a terrible mother and wife.

Hi,

It's the beneficiary here. We just got another checklist email so we were wondering if somebody could help us here.

When we sent the AOS package the first time we used my parents-in-law as co-sponsors and they didn't fill the I-864 and I-864A forms properly. I don't blame them since they are just trying to help us. They made some mistakes like filling and signing both forms by the same person and we got an AOS checklist on October 17th.

After that we decided to use just my father-in-law as unique co-sponsor since he makes enough money for it so we call the NVC and got a representative to confirm that we could do that and to include a letter stating so when submitting the new AOS package and so we did. We sent the checklist back with JUST the I-864 form filled by my father-in-law, the cover sheet and this letter stating that we are using just him for the AOS.

Last Saturday we got our case complete and today we got another checklist asking us to bring the corrected AOS to the interview. Now here's the kicker: The new checklist is basically pretty much the same as the previous one, like if we submitted again both forms filled just by my mother-in-law (which we didn't do - we sen't just the I-864 filled by my father-in-law and a letter stating why).

Here's the damn checklist we got today:

2qukghs.jpg

r0bjg8.jpg

5v0yup.jpg

We are planning on bringing to the interview what we sent on the last AOS package. That's the I-864 form filled by my father-in-law and his letter stating why we are just using him as co-sponsor. We think we should be OK with that but we are still worried about it. Does anyone have any suggestion about what we should do? Thank you so much!

Hi,

I just got off the phone with the NVC and the rep told me that whoever reviewed my last aos package didn't see the letter stating that my father-in-law would be the unique co-sponsor. We sent the letter for sure with the package and they have lost or ignore it. Therefore my mother-in-law was still in the application and we got a checklist because we didn't submit her forms (I KNOW WE DIDN'T. THAT'S WHY WE SENT THE LETTER EXPLAINING TO REMOVE HER)... It's so frustrating they can easily screw your application.

Anyway, he said to not worry about it and just bring the whole AOS package with the letter to the interview and we will be fine. The CO has authority to deal with this kind of stuff and he will remove my mother-in-law from the application leaving the petitioner (my wife) as sponsor and my father-in-law as only co-sponsor.

We'll call again to double check this information though.
