I just feel beyond depressed these past two days. My husband is depressed too. He has started drinking more often, went out to a night club, partying, like a single guy....we've been fighting....this distance is destroying everything....... we've been separated for 14 months I don't know how we do it.... :(

We have been waiting for ours 13 months and wasn't easy either. Everything will be great once you get your CC. Try to think about something else. Will get your mind of off it.

Sorry guys - I'm 23rd and that's scan date (no checklists) they seem to be doing checklists faster to get them through allowing the 60 day wait time for first time scanners to get closer. I understand and it's logical but that just means I gotta try to be super patient! :clock:

And there was just a checklist scan date of Oct 22nd so I think the are definitely at the 22nd - 25th days. Good Luck all!

Thanks for explaining. But I saw a lot of CC that had checklists and they got CC. Even the very last one on OCT 24th, He said he had a IV checklist and got completed. I just got off the phone from NVC and they said to call back in a week, My scan date is OCT 28. What is your situation, what is your scan date ?

Not to sound pessimistic but NVC cases are on OCT 24th... I would say maybe before New Year. You are holding up great... Yours will come soon.

Hello all. Long time lurker. NVC received my civil documents on October 20 and AOS docs on October 23. Called this morning and still no news. Asked if anything had been reviewed and they told me no nothing has been looked at yet. Guess they are going by my last scan date which is the 23. Good luck to us all. Praying for a case complete before Xmas.

That is weird. I saw OCT 24th CC. Yours should have been done. hmmm.

Hi everyone. I am getting an error message (The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records.) when I try logging in to check my NVC status at this URL: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

I have previously successfully logged in here several times in the last couple months. I am wondering whether the URL has changed? Or maybe this has happened to you and it means there is a problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also - what is the best phone number to call the NVC about your case status and what information do I need to have on hand so they will give me an update? I keep trying the phone number listed on their website but it's always busy. Thanks!

Possibly you got a Case Complete. You are dialing the right number. you have to keep redialing and you will get through... Call NVC and check if your Case is done. What is your Scan date?

Hi

I don't know where to begin. I am beyond devastated. I called NVC yesterday to see if our case was complete. They told me that a checklist was being processed for my wifes Taiwan police clearance. I told them my wife included that with the scan of the IV documents. They could not give me any details about it other than to tell me that they would put in a request for a supervisor review which could take up to 42 days. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and of course none available. And if they could call me back if possible. I asked my wife about it and she showed me the clearance over the computer and said she included it.

This Taiwan clearance took forever to get also. It took my wife over 2 months to get back from the Taiwan government. So now by my calculation I might have to wait 42 days to hear back from a Supervisor wait another 2 months to get back another certificate. Wait another 60 days to go back to the end of the line. And then pray to not get another checklist. This is wrong. Very wrong. What can I do Should I write my congressman? What options do I have? I am so depressed.

Thanks in advance

boarder

Contact your Congressman and have them look into your case. I did that for my case. They requested My wife's police certificate and I sent it in.... but your case is different. Contact your congressman and have them call them. They usually start taking you seriously once you do that.

Just realize that NVC follows a first in first out policy but can't control delays and manual processing that papers will have to take. It's sometimes hard for me to remember that there are plenty of other cases that aren't on Visa Journey and they have to be processed as well.

I've seen some cases take the full 60 days and others that only take 48 - You also have to account that all of the ones that have been approved after October 23rd on VJ are checklists - checklists are being resolved faster than 1st scanned packages because lets face it - they've been waiting longer :)

That is weird. I saw OCT 24th CC. Yours should have been done. hmmm.

My thoughts in regards to scan dates and such:

NVC isn't ever on just one specific date. It'll always be a range of dates, because there's more than just one person reviewing files. And although NVC roughly follows the first in, first out procedure, it's the same process as USCIS. An officer will take a bunch of files, then review those. Then take another pile, review those. Etc etc. Due to this, if one officer is faster than another, then he'll be working on later dates than someone who's slow and still working on earlier dates, thus giving a range of dates.

Also, in regards to time frames between regular packages and checklists, keep in mind: when reviewing checklists, they just review the new documents submitted and verify if everything is correct now, compared to the original package where they have to make sure everything is right.

So, just my two cents ;)

Your 2 cents make total sense, you're right. It's very nerve racking for all of us, especially knowing I'm sooooo close to a decision. I'm Oct. 23rd, so im smack in the middle of the dates they're working on!!

Saylin, I just got off the phone with NVC and the lady that answered said that my case is being "reviewed". What in reality in NVC terms does that mean, and how long if it means they're working on it, will it take to have a cc if all goes well? Sorry if my question is dumb, but my heart wants to jump out of my chest right now!!!

Makes sense. I just wonder it they have two piles new scan and checklist piles. It would save both time.

I was told that at noon and at 7pm I called and review was completed by I got a checklist. Check again in a few hours on website or calling. You should know something later on today.

It depends on the operator and what THEY mean by the word. It could either be someone is actually reviewing it RIGHT NOW, or that it's simply on someone's desk to be reviewed shortly. But, hopefully you hear something soon. Keep an eye on that portal ;)

They have different departments to review the different packages (one for AOS, one for IV). And they may possibly have a third just for checklists, who knows (I'd love to know though).

If they do have a separate one for checklists, that would be another reason why there's a slightly shorter time for checklists as there would be fewer checklists than original packages.

So if the checklist was from aos unit there could be checklist from IV unit separate? Omg!
