Hello,

Finalizing the correction on aos attorney did. Quick question: do we also write the case # on the actual 9 aos pages? We got checklist on Nov 21 when calling and yet no email on it from NVC. Advice

You must write your case number on the upper right corner of each page of the AOS. Dont forget to include the barcode page with your AOS 9 pages!!!

Sorry I am a little confused on the whole timeline thing. I called NVC and they said that my scan date was Oct 15th and that my 60 day's would be up on Oct 15th. I can update my timeline to reflect that.

Sorry I had a typo in the first post. I called the NVC a few weeks ago and they said my 60 days was up on December 15th and my scan date was Dec 15th. Today I just called them and they say my case was completed on December 9th! I am in shock really.

Regarding the timeline, I am not given the option to enter a scan date. It only asked the date the AOS package was sent. I don't know if there is addons or something that I come use for the timeline. I notice that some people have it in their signature.

I never recommend staples. I only ever recommend paperclips.

Think about it:

How long does it take to remove a staple? How frustrating is it? Do you really want the officer to be a little irritated before reviewing your case?

Compare that to an easy to remove paperclip ;)

Just my opinion though!

Hi guys,

I have absolutely no idea how to control my frustration at the NVC stage of my visa journey. We received the scan date of 6th oct at NVC and on 28th nov, we called NVC and they informed us that we have AOS checklist regarding discrepancy in aggregate and gross income of my husband ( which is way above the poverty line income mark of 24k). My husband sent the updated I-864 (received by NVC on 1st dec ) with the income details updated and he explicitly asked NVC if we need to mark the checkbox stating if we are attaching the transcripts and the representative at NVC told us to leave it unchecked. Today, we received the email from NVC about the first checklist which was communicated to us on 28th nov and my husband tried contacting the supervisor at NVC to see when can we expect our case to be completed and we were told by the NVC supervisor today that the checkbox was to be checked and can't be left blank and we should be expecting a second AOS checklist. I am in such a frustrated mood right now and can't stop cursing NVC for providing incorrect information and then, having us bear the brunt of it :( I feel helpless as I don't see my interview getting conducted in January and I won't be with my husband to celebrate both my birthday and our very 1st marriage anniversary.

I'm so sorry to hear about the checklists. Please hang on and you will get through this. Don't worry.

Did you not mark the checkbox for question 13 or 14 of part6 ? Because checkbox for question 14 says 'optional'

Hi Saylin,

Also, do we write our case # directly on top right corner of all 9 pages of AOS using a pen or Should I write it on a sticky note & attach to top of each page ?

If you found a mistake, and you're sure it's a mistake, then you should consider correcting it. Otherwise, you can get another checklist for it.

Yes, as it says, top right. I would suggest just writing right on the form, either with a pen or pencil. Now that civil documents are just photocopies, there's no reason not to just write on everything in pen.

We sent in our AOS and IV packages via email. My husband's police check we went for the fingerprint version so there would be no reason for a checklist on that as we're going over and above. Although it has a seal on it, it is raised and colorless and on white paper. it didn't make any difference all the different ways we tried to copy and scan or scan it, on the PDF you could BARELY see the outside of the seal. I made mention of where to find the seal and that the seal was there on the certificate. Are they going to give me trouble about this? Is there any other solution after we've already sent in the files? Paranoid, yes!!

Thank you Saylin. I shall write case # using pencil on top of both Form I-864 and copies of civil documents as per your recommendation.

Oh no, I did not write my case number an all the IRS tax transcript not the I864 case.. I hope it will be fine anyways and that they will not loose my documents.

Now I have a question.. My scan date is oct 29th but last week I have found a mistake on the i864 form so I have resend it before getting any checklist (I don't think they have reviewed my case yet). I have just called NVC to make sure that they have received my corrected form and they said that they have received it on December 10th. I also asked if I will receive an email with the scan date of this corrected form but the rep said no. Is this normal? I thought I would receive an email with scan date everytime I send a package to NVC.

Also do you thing the 60 days will go from my first scan date (October 29) or second scan date (December 10)?

Maybe I am too optimistic but I am hoping that since they haven't reviewed my package yet I am still in the pipeline with October 29. What do you guys think?

Sigh. Sent corrected documents to NVC yesterday from New Hampshire so should get there tomorrowish. Sending AFP certificate straight to the consulate. Here we go again. Will let you know when I have a scan date.

EDIT: Still no email! Ha ha ha..

Hey Sharks,

Good luck !!

No email for us either (more than 2 weeks after review) - it's like NVC are introducing further delays into the process It's freaking annoying.

Fingers crossed for quick review and CC!!
