Hi spousewaitingVisa,

Please answer below questions when you get a chance:

1. In India, usually we did not have a vaccinations document/ detail,

So we need to say 'No' to this question. Am I correct?

Q: Do you have documentation to establish that you have

Received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?

You can put yes or No... either is fine... but I always opt for YES

yes >> Panel physician (at medical) will recommend vaccines to meet US Requirements.

No>> Just need to explain the above

2. Fingerprinting & Photo

We are living in Chennai; we need to go to Mumbai for the interview 2 / 3 days before.

Q: Can I do the Fingerprinting and Photo one day before the interview Date?

You can have biometrics done at Chennai Consulate. It doesn't have to be in Mumbai. You have to schedule appointment a day prior to your interview.

3. Pickup the Passport

Can we pick up the passport on the same day of the interview date? Right?

Nope... depends on consulate processing. Some of them they issue at the same day but they usually ask for 1-7 days.

Thank you for your time.

Technically, although your IV package is past 60 days, it seems you have a checklist with a November scan date. That means they can take 60 days from your last scan date of November and review everything at once. I know, NVC sucks!

1. Just say "No, Medical documents will be provided at the time of interview." (you will go to US-approved doctor after your NVC case is completed. have doctor give you sealed envelope or have him mailed directly to US consulate).

To answer your last 2 questions, I am not sure about Mumbai's US Consulate. Mine is Delhi's US Embassy. I can try to answer your last 2 questions since I heard from other people on this forum and my friends.

2. maybe, but you need to call to make an appointment for fingerprint after your NVC case is completed and NVC schedule your interview appointment. When you receive the instructions (including interview date) after your NVC case is completed, I suggest you to read the instructions and call to make an appointment early before all appointments are booked. (call both fingerprint center and US-approved doctor office -- they will provide the list of doctors that US Consulate approved. You cannot go to any doctor. You have to select a doctor that US consulate will provide you).

3. It depends on visa officer's decision to issue a visa (same day, days, weeks, or months). From what I heard, if they don't issue a visa on the same day at Mumbai's US consulate, applicants have two options: Option 1: have them mail it to your post office via courier, not to your residence so they will be notified to go to the post office to pick it up. Option 2: wait until you check ceac site to see if visa is issued, then you go the special building (VAC - Visa Application Center) to pick it up. see http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-loc-ofc.asp#locations

Hope this helps.

Same thing here. The tracking info on my package said 'received 11/28' the rep said they scanned my docs on 12/1, and then i got a confirmation email that said my scan date was 11/28.

Thank God the dates they're telling me are not that far apart. :)

Good luck, God's timing is always perfect. We all will get happy ending with NVC soon.

Hello everyone,

Please I need your input on best action to take... Here is a quick summary of my case status below:

NVC received case: July 2 2014

Pay all fees: July 28, 2014

Send AOS and civil documents : August 14, 2014

First checklist on October 6th, 2014 : asked for two additional documents for the applicant civil documents and sent them back on the same day.

December:

Second checklist (I was told about today on the phone) : they need one additional document, certificate of non-convection, that was never mentioned in the first checklist.

I noticed that on the USA embassy in Jordan website that effective November 1st they r no longer requiring the police certificate (which I already sent with the original documents) and it should be replaced with a non-convection certificate.

As you see they change the required documents through the process.

Obviously, common sence suggest that the new rules should only apply for cases issued after the effective date.. Anyone faced this situation before? And do you think talking to a supervisor might help in conversing them that the rules changed after I already submitted my documents or at least allow me to bring the extra document to the interview.

Anyone had luck with this kinda or similar request before? Just trying to see what people think based on thier experience.

Thanks!

You could ask for a supervisor review but I'm not 100% sure that will help.

Hopefully someone else knows about this. Thanks!

I wanted to speak to supervisor to ask him to let me bring this certificate at interview specially it wasn't my mistake. Unfortunately, They put on hold for seconds and then said no sopervisor available. (There times trying)
