I've never seen NVC care about tax filing status, but the embassy can. I go into more information about this at the end of my wiki.

I highly suggest you get that tax return amended ASAP. Make a copy of it before sending in and bring that to the interview, in case they bring it up.

Yes, you can get denied for pretty much anything, including this.

The husband talk to his accountant, she said she can't do it cus i don't have SSN yet.

I'd stop going to that accountant then cause she's wrong. You can absolutely file as married without an SSN. There's two options:

MFS - Married Filing Separately - he'd write in NRA (Non-Resident Alien) in the SSN box

MFS - Married Filing Jointly - you'd apply for an ITIN on the W7 form

I'd suggest you read the bottom portion of my wiki as I go over this. I'd also suggest checking out the IRS website.

Hi!

AOS scan date - 10/3 or 10/6 (depends on who you talk at NVC)

IV scan date - 10/28

I called NVC and said that my AOS review has been completed and no checklist but civil documents have not been reviewed. She gave me the 60 days scripted answer.

I've been reading all the comments and it looks like most members documents have been reviewed the same time. Is it normal, they would review the first scan date first then the next one? I'm really happy that I have no checklist on the AOS. I called twice to confirm.

NVC received date on 10/9.

I've just checked https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx and confirmed that my AOS fee displayed "N/A"!

It was displayed as "PAID" just one hour ago.

Unless the checklist is asking for the ENTIRE package, there's like a 99% chance the checklist is real. And looking at what you posted, yes, that's real.

Fix the mistakes listed, then re-send it to NVC.

Thank you so much for your help! :)

It is a real checklist. I call the NVC and they help me, it was just a little thing, but i had to fill the entire AOS again :(

Now it's send. Do you think it will be another two month? or this should take less time? i imagine that the December holidays are not going to make the process any faster.

Thanks again!
