Saylin i need your help. We got married December 21,2013. When my husband filed tax return, he wrote down single. We got a case complete and no checklist. Im worried if i need to bring ammended tax during the interview. I might have an interview schedule in January and irs website says that processing of ammended tax takes up to 12 weeks. If i dont bring that during my interview, will i get denied??

I've never seen NVC care about tax filing status, but the embassy can. I go into more information about this at the end of my wiki.

I highly suggest you get that tax return amended ASAP. Make a copy of it before sending in and bring that to the interview, in case they bring it up.

Yes, you can get denied for pretty much anything, including this.

Montreal embassy now requesting I-864 on day of interview

I am the US citizen filing for my husband. My husband is eligible to file I-864W which is what we sent to NVC. He worked in the US for 11 years and hence has enough Social Security credits to not need me to sponsor him financially. We got through NVC without any6 problems.

Now I received an email from the Montreal embassy, asking for me to sign an I-864.

I am living in Canada with my husband. i have a job offer in the US. We also have assets to qualify.

Any thoughts or advice?

Hi guys,

I got the checklist after 60 days of sending the AOS (on oct-1st) :'(

I want to believe it's false, but i'm sure it is not.
We have a joint sponsor that is more than qualified to support me. But my spouse is living with me in Argentina and he is not making enough money for US standards.
I'm going to call in a few hours to the NVC, but i wanted if you guys can give me some sort of advice on how to proceed on this.
It's such a long process that all this little things hit us so hard :/
As always, thanks so much!!
I attached the end of the emails with the thing i have to fix :

Unless the checklist is asking for the ENTIRE package, there's like a 99% chance the checklist is real. And looking at what you posted, yes, that's real.

Fix the mistakes listed, then re-send it to NVC.
