Did you change your name with the Social Security Office yet?

My name doesn't have any changes last name is same for both of us. What should i do?

Well, if you are being told 3-4 weeks, then they are making progress. My case was received by NVC on 11/12, we were told 42 days. Last time I called to check was Monday evening and still nothing. Although, this rep did say it is currently being entered. Whether that is the truth or not, who knows! When I ask him when I should check back since it is being entered, he then gave me the generic response of, "it can take up to 42 days." Lol!

I think it's time I take a break from calling, I have been obsessing over this whole stupid process and I am just exhausted. If things haven't already been complicated enough, yesterday my grandfather was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder to top everything off. Obviously, these people have no understanding of the meaning expedite.

Finally my I-130 arrived to NVC yesterday, so I will start this whole process soon hopefully. They told me case nymber assignment now takes 3-4 weeks, so my case number will be available on Dec 23-30 range. Every week the delay for every part of the process is just getting bigger. It's like they worked fine for decades and now in 2-3 month they've got slammed with cases unexpectedly?

my case arrived to NVC on 11/14 and still no case number. i called yesterday in the evening (like 12 am kiev time) and rep told me that my case not yet in system and probably case number will be on dec 28-29

You will want to inform your HR department. Let them know you got married, but did not change your name. They will want to update your information in their system to reflect your married status. They will most likely request a copy of your marriage certificate.

As for how you should file your taxes, I believe you would file as married filing separately, but don't quote me on that. I would consult a tax adviser, just to be sure.

Thanks

The influx from 8000 cases to 25000 cases a week would definitely put a strain on their resources... Hopefully they can return to old time frames of reviewing packages within a couple of weeks. But, if we do see that, I doubt it'll be any time soon.

For those who got a checklist for AOS for question 13.a.1 for total income vs Adjust Gross income, did u send corrected I-864 with right numbers for 13.a.1, 13.b.1 and 13.c.1? Or did u send the corrected number just for 13.a.1 as per the checklist ?

I did for all of them as they were also wrong but NVC asked for 13.a.1 only . We need to give them (Form 1040 line 22) in that column. So if we are correcting it for the latest return , we should be doing the same form earlier returns as well.

I sent it on 19th Nov. and got the scan date of 21st Nov. (but got the actual checklist email today saying the same)

It depends on the country/consulate. The information should be on the website of the consulate the beneficiary will interview with.
