Hi everyone. Just a quick clarifying question... My husband (A Canadian citizen) the beneficiary has a scheduled interview at the embassy in Montreal to get his IR-1 Permanent Resident Visa. Can he travel to the US for a few days before the interview?

This might be a silly question. I think the answer is Yes, it should be fine for him to travel but not completely sure. Thoughts?

Should be perfectly ok to travel to and from usa. Just need to be on time for medical and interview.

My Wife's Interview has been scheduled for January 16th, 2015 at Mumbai consulate. We already scheduled the biometrics the day before interview in Mumbai & also scheduled the physical for 29th of this month. Her file shows that its still at NVC, which I confirmed today. Now, is it something we have to worry about that it is still 'At NVC' when Interview has been scheduled and it should be reaching the consulate before that. right??

It will change as "in-transit' once its moved from NVC and will be changed as "Ready" once embassy has received your file...Nothing to worry..

..you wil be getting a mail from mumbai consulate as well by 1st or 2nd Jan to confirm your interview.

You just don't worry about these.. its NVC responsibility to send your file to consulate on time.. and for Indian consulates they send it by end of the month... for January cases you can expect a ready before January. Just check by end of December.. just don't waste your time on this ...

Hey I just noticed you have interview in January too. Does your NVC status still show "AT Nvc" or has it changed to "in transit" yet?

That is your case complete letter you got. It wasn't that they got fast date, they were in the queue when scheduling was started. The scheduling stopped at 12/8 for both consulates in India for January. Just hang on February scheduling will be in a few weeks.

Can anyone elaborate about interview dates for the Dominican Republic how fast they're scheduling them since they have a ginormous new embassy there? I just got cc yesterday.

My case was linked to my daughter's case to have same day interview. NVC was waiting for her CC. But after they issued her a second checklist (sigh), NVC scheduled an interview for me.

Happy, Happy, Happy!!! Dec. 09 we sent a request to expedite my daughter's case and we just received an e-mail from Montreal Consulate that her interview was scheduled sameday/time with me. Thank you NVC and Montreal Consulate for making it happen!!!

We did electronic processing and I think it helped a lot as just yesterday her case was still at NVC and today it shows READY at Montreal.

Congratulations. I have added you to the spreadsheet. I haven't had any DR's this month come to the thread so have no Idea.

You can always call NVC to see if they are done scheduling for DR.

So I have some good news... Our interview was Dec 1, but we weren't approved right away because my husband had some previous issues with his visitor visa that we knew could be a problem. So i didn't post anything because it all felt really scary and uncertain and I wasn't ready to share. But now....

My husband received an email today that said his VISA WAS PRINTED and HE CAN PICK IT UP FRIDAY!!!

I can hardly believe it and my husband won't believe it until the Visa is in hand (actually until he's through POE). Thanks to this entire community for their knowledge and support. We literally could not have done it without the information and support of Visa Journey. I am so glad that I learned of this site.

Hi guys,

My wife's interview was on December 16th and she was approved. Here is the detail review of her interview experience.

She reached shuttle service at 5:45am. At 6:15am, she got into the line to get the ticket, she showed her passport and interview letter. She got into the first shuttle that left for US embassy at 6:45am. She reached the embassy and got into the line for immigrant visa applicants. Security checked her interview letter and passport. She entered the embassy and was directed towards finger prints place. She got the fingerprints. After getting done with fingerprints, she received domestic violence pamphlet, courier services information flyer and information to pay green card fee. After that she was directed to a waiting lounge.

She was called onto the window where Pakistani CO was sitting. He asked her to submit her medical report and passport. After that she told him that my husband has an updated AOS because he has a new job title and new salary figure. He told her you can give me that as well. He took her contact number so courier services can call her to pick up the passport. She was asked if she will give an interview in English or Urdu. She said Urdu. She was asked to wait for an interview call.

After that she was called onto window where American CO and Pakistani CO both were present. They asked her following questions:

Who is sponsoring you?

Was it an arranged marriage or love marriage?

What does your husband do?

Where does he live?

Who does he live with?

What are his siblings name?

For how long did he stay in Pakistan after marriage?

How do you guys communicate with each other?

What kind of visa did he got, when he went to USA?

When he went to USA?

Where will you live when you move to USA?

What is your husband's job title? Does he like his boss?

Do you have anything else with you? She had wedding album, joint bank account statements, skype calls screenshots, wedding card, life insurance policy (They only saw wedding album and joint bank account statements).

After that they told her, "Congratulations, we are approving your visa". She also got her original documents back after hearing magic words. She told me she thanks the CO's and had a big smile on her face when she left embassy. American Express courier service will contact her in few days so she can pick up her passport and visa packet.

The visa application status has been changed from "Administrative Processing" to "ISSUED" on CEAC website.

today (December 17th). I am so happy that everything went smooth. Thanks to almighty and all of you for your valuable advice :) :) :) :)
