I just received my interview date!! JANUARY 5!! This nightmare is almost over!!!!!

Congrats!!

Dwheels, Any guess on how NVC schedules interviews? I have CC date of Nov 21, yet my interview is scheduled later than the user I quoted above.

Also, my status still shows at NVC. I noticed that DHL picks up package form NVC every Friday for Montreal consulate using your tracker. How long in advance NVC sends cases to Montreal? Do I need to call and ask why mine is still at NVC?

What I have been told by NVC when they have a stack of petitions they go by case complete and then they will then use PD. Their PD is 1/4/13 yours is 10/22/13. It doesn't always work that way.

You were assigned your date on 12/4 they were just assigned today. But in most cases its case complete gets you in that months scheduling and its your PD that gets you what date you will get.

Calling NVC to ask why they aren't going to tell you. They may not be done scheduling. Long as they get petitions there for interview. They have no requirement t get it their any sooner. I have seen them get them their the day of.

I am sure it will change in due time. Just keep checking. I know mine stayed at NVC for two weeks then it was shipped off.

Oh wow learned something new. Thanks for clarifying. Note that I didnt have problem why they go interview before us, I was just curious how they schedule it.

Any idea how much time in advance NVC would send your case to consulate? Mine still says at NVC.

The last DHL to arrive from NVC to embassy was on the 10th. So your guess is as good as mine it left the 9th. It could be any day. No one knows when. Just keep checking for that In-Transit or Ready.

I hope so too... as the other poster mentioned, it might be difficult to get back into Venezuela to pick up he visa without your passport. It's too bad the IV unit is so hard to contact. What finally helped me was to call the American Citizen Services part of the embassy (I'm the USC petitioner) and explain my worries, and they kindly offered to contact the IV department with my concerns... It got me a little more information.

I'm a bit hyper aware of violence in Vzla right now, because a couple of good friends were murdered a couple of weeks ago, not in Caracas but in another major city. So be safe, and good luck with getting the passport back quickly!

Thanks and good luck to you and yours also. May I ask, what is the IV department & how did it help you in any way?

Dwheels or anyone,

My wife has made it into the US, so the visa packet has already been collected. We forgot to get the Alien Registration number and whatever information is required to pay the $165 fee. Can you tell me where we can get that information, so we can pay the fee and get our Green Card?

Thanks!

The cc email comes 7 days after case complete. The last interview date I have for India is 12/8 CC.

Congratulations. Welcome to the group. I have added you to the spreadsheet.

They might be done with January scheduling since we have now passed the half way point of the month. But if you call tomorrow ask if Canada is complete with January scheduling.

You can find your A-Number and DOS Case ID on your immigrant data summary, USCIS Immigrant Fee handout, or immigrant visa stamp. Your A-Number is the letter “A” followed by eight or nine numbers (such as A012345678). Your DOS Case ID is three letters followed by nine or 10 numbers (for example, XYZ0123456789). If you are a Diversity Visa immigrant, your DOS Case ID will have four numbers followed by two letters and five more numbers (0000AB01234).

  • Immigrant Data Summary

During your U.S. embassy or consulate appointment, you should have received an immigrant data summary stapled to the front of your immigrant visa package. You can find your A-Number and DOS Case ID at the top of the immigrant data summary, as shown in the picture below.
