My step-child's (IR2) visa was approved today in Guatemala! She receives her visa tomorrow afternoon and will fly to the U.S. on Wednesday.

well husband made it to interview in Jerusalem. denied based on overstay when he was in the Us before.

so just about 2.5 years to get to this day and now must do waiver so at best guess end of summer 2015 or fall he might be back home with me. sad day

Oh no so sorry. Were you prepared and handed the waiver over to CO right then at the interview so they could send it off?

We were expecting it, but we were not sure exactly what 212a number they were going to hit him with.

ended up just being: 212(a)(9)(b)

which I guess it would have been worse, right?

and Israel didn't send over his police record so that was the only thing missing.

CO was also shocked that USCIS had a RFE for a DNA test for our daughter back in January, like none of that got passed along to the consulate. So they copied that and her birth certificate from Illinois. And copies of all our past tickets and visas; and that I was just there 14 days ago so proof of relationship was our easiest part.

Case Touched: April 5, 2013
Case transferred to 'local office': November 7, 2013
Case transferred to USCIS office: November 8, 2013

Hardcopy notification that case is at Nebraska office: November 15, 2013

NOA 2: January 23rd, 2014 (email notification)

Case shipped to NVC: January 24th, 2014

NVC received case: February 6, 2014

USCIS admitted to creating two case numbers for us and giving us the wrong one: March 20, 2014

USCIS faxed RFE to us: March 20, 2014

Submitted requested forms three days before deadline: March 23, 2014

NVC Ready for our case: May 27, 2014

NVC allowing us submit all forms and pay fees: July 27, 2014

Thanks for you response, I want to get everything ready and ask for Jan Interview date should Nairobi Embassy happen to have a cancellation, I want to go ahead and finish up vaccine shots requirement and NEED to know what shots are needed for someone who does not have any vaccine shot records.....

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B
  • Hepatitis B
  • Any other vaccine-preventable diseases recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices
