congratulations. You are updated.

The email is all you get. So print away.

Sometimes they are accommodating. So one your petition gets their you can ask for a earlier date. Asking for specifics might be shaky at best but you can try,

I just interviewed a couple weeks ago. I never received a hard copy of the letter. I just printed up the email.

As for rescheduling, Montreal seems to be tough, at least as far as moving interviews forward. Some of us tried in November and were told it could only be done for medical or humanitarian reasons. You could email them and try. Maybe they're more willing now.

Thanks both of you for response. I have decided I wont bother with reschedule. Adds lot of complications.

Is this a IR1/IR2 interview? Or just the IR2?

Usually they are pretty easy on kids. If parent is already in US they may ask when last you seen them. Hopefully you have alot of picture evidence submitted so you won't have to submit DNA testing which is a 2 to 3 month delay.

Thanks for the reply. It's a 1 & 2.

My spouse is going to take the dive and go attend the interview on January 6th 2015 in Paris, France though she is no longer a resident of France at this time. The US consulate in China strongly advised against changing the consulate to China at this time since it would take many months to do the same.

We are vacationing in Jordan and Egypt for the upcoming holidays so France is just a hop away. Will find out soon enough if taking an interview in a country outside home country works or not if one has recently moved out...

Same here. I too had my interview scheduled on Dec 3, and have not received the P4 letter yet. I was told by NVC that I'd receive it by anytime next week. Yes there are a few who have already received it, still there are many who are yet to receive their P4 emails. So I guess its quite normal for now, and we can expect to see our P4 emails by next week for sure......

Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.........

no p4 letter yet too. :( ours is via mail

Nope. She has to meet the requirements of a resident. So her interview will be in China.

Even if NVC assigned her to Paris embassy they will ask for her documents that show she is a resident and they will deny her.

Are you saying that the consulate checks residency requirements on the day of the interview? Is there anyone who has taken the interview in a foreign country who can confirm this?

Hello

Are we supposed to carry Medical X ray at Port of entry for CR1 visa

Thanks

Hello All
Needed some quick information from you about POE and Customs at JFK
I was reading that first time immigrants are allowed to bring jewellery etc duty free if it has been with you for more than a year in your native country ...Is that true ? and do you need to show reciepts for that ?

Also if you are bringing jewellery and you want duty free do you need to put their value in Vistors columns(The total value of articles that will remain in US ):
Thanks a lot for the help...

If i remember it correctly, they have a special declaration form for goods you bring as an immigrant. Check the US Custom website. Receipts are good to have.
