Glory be to GOD in the highest hallelujah!!!! Hubby had interview today and was...APPROVED after 18 months!! Thank you to all the VJers! Special thanks to Dwheels, saylin and others for all the help to get through this. For everyone else that is waiting, there is a light at the end of this long tunnel and your day is coming. Have faith and you will get there. GOD bless!!

Here is what happened: hubby got there around 6am , went through the line ended up being interviewed by one of the nicest officers, asked him how we met, what my profession was, if we had kids, how long had i been in the US, looked at some pictures; then he started to type something in the computer and so hubby asked what he should tell his wife, then the officer said, "tell her your visa was approved"! We were so nervous because we didn't do any front/back loading. {AMEN!!!} We didn't get any checklist, it just took forever to get my tax transcripts. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Congrats I love love love it when I see cases that did not frontload from MENA countries get approved. We did not either but to God be the glory interview coming up soon!

Thanks for the information! We've decided that my wife will have the passport/visa collected from New Delhi to save some time.

Also, is the authorization letter just a short 1-2 sentence letter with the applicant's signature, or is there something more official? Does it need to be attested? My wife's father will be retrieving her passport. Thanks!

I am sorry I don't know the format of the authorization letter. Someone who took an authorization letter can help you better on this.

Hi dilmera, I know you were asking dwheels but....here is a good thread for you to check out http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/439537-green-card-production-after-elis/

Hey you are welcome to make the suggestion and thank you. I did check it out. Time to do some more googling. The thread mentions something about an ELIS status.

It has been three days I first understood from the NVC rep. on call that my interview has been scheduled. But I haven't yet received any email from them. Is that normal? I see many have already received such (P4) emails.

Yes we some of us have received the P4. Ours came yesterday but the rep at NVC said it can take up to a week. But definitely before interview time. She said in some instances a few weeks before even.

Hi team.

P4 received. Started going through the checklist of things sent to NVC and gathering the originals. Everything will be fine, except I am really worried about the affidavit.

Now, the affidavit....

US Husband sent I-864ez to NVC with copy of 2013 tax return (1040) and W2, photocopy of optional 2012 & 2011 tax transcripts, printed copy of PDF letter from employer with salary etc and printout of 6 months of pay stubs. All of his pay stuff is done online so printouts is the best he could do. Anyway... Approved. Case complete etc etc. :-) 'Y' listed next to Financial Evidence on the P4 letter.

The P4 states how you have to bring originals to interview.

1. Should I have him print and send me the I-864ez with his original signature on it?

2. Should he send me a printout of his 1040 again and sign it with his original signature? Or perhaps he should send me the 2013 tax transcript from the IRS which he now has and I take that as the original evidence to the interview?

3. Shall I get him to also send me the original 2012 & 2011 IRS tax transcripts since this was presented in the pack we sent for our AoS?

4. The employer letter and pays stubs were originally just printed from online. His work does everything electronically. Shall we just print this again and take it again?

Now, a parts from all of that, this is where it gets tricky....

I noticed today that the income listed for 2013 is correct and the income for 2012 & 2011 is correct, however, we accidentally put 2011 in the 2012 spot and visa versa. But no problems with affidavit being approved. We did not notice the error. NVC did not notice the error. I am thinking it is because providing 2012 & 2011 was optional so they skipped that bit and did not check the attached copies of those transcripts.

What to do?

1. Just redo the I-864ez form and fix the 2012 & 2011 info? This will then have my husbands new original signature and the new date (December instead of July). Just swap 2012 into the 2011 position and 2011 into the 2012 position and reattach all of the other evidence that we originally submitted?

2. Redo the whole affidavit, adding copies of the 2013, 2012 & 2011 tax transcripts that he now has, including getting a new letter from employer and new last 6 months of pay stubs?

I have been thinking about what to do all day. It has made me feel sick. Getting this far and then realising the potential for everything to be messed up at the interview. Just wait for interview?

I do not wish to call the NVC because I fear of being delayed again.... Etc etc etc etc arghh arghh arghh. Frustrated and can't think straight. Running scenarios through my head all day.

All of your thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

The Big O,

I'm a little confused about your use of the word "affidavit" and why you need to bring updated financial evidence.

The wording re: financial evidence on the P4 letter IS very confusing. Essentially, your husband has already submitted all the financial evidence you need. The wording on the P4 letter seems to imply that you need to bring NEW stuff, but that is ONLY if your sponsor, at the time your financial evidence was submitted, had NOT filed the 2013 tax return, and had filed an extension instead. Tax returns are due on April 15th, but filing an extension gives you until the next October. NVC doesn't like to approve your sponsor without seeing that the sponsor has actually filed the return - so if that was the case, you would bring a signed copy of the 2013 return with you. But since your husband has already filed it, there IS no updated info you need.

I do not think you need to worry about new forms, or the mixup of 2011 and 2012. Obviously your sponsor is already OK. Our interview lasted less than 5 minutes, and no financial evidence was even talked about.

If you wish, get a transcript of 2013 (it should be easy for your husband to get), just in case.

Breathe a little. Or a lot. You'll be OK.

P4 Interview Letter received!

I have a question. Does anyone know what kind of questions a 17 year old stepchild might encounter during the interview?

Thanks

Is this a IR1/IR2 interview? Or just the IR2?

Usually they are pretty easy on kids. If parent is already in US they may ask when last you seen them. Hopefully you have alot of picture evidence submitted so you won't have to submit DNA testing which is a 2 to 3 month delay.
