Just got email from Montreal Consulate. Interview schedule on January 20th. My CC was Nov 21st.

Two questions for Dwheels or other experienced members.

- Do I just print the P4 letter attached in email and bring it to consulate or Will I also get Hard copy of this letter at my home address?

- How is Montreal with rescheduling interview? Do I just email them if I need to reschedule my interview on some other day of the week?

Congrats to all the families finally getting interview dates for January 2015. If you have not got an interview date as yet call the NVC cause they might have an appointment date for you but just have not sent you anything yet. We have still yet to receive the official email with information for wife.

Yes, I guess the time lapse of five days where my visa was printed and ready to be picked up had something to do with the delivery time to my city. I had no other choice than to go to the pickup location to collect my passport. To those collecting passports, if you are collecting others' too, read up carefully what documents you need to bring to collect others' passports. A guy next to me wanted to collect his wife's passport and had her passport copy too and told that they applied together, still they insisted he bring an authorization letter from his wife or she come to collect her own passport.

Thanks for the information! We've decided that my wife will have the passport/visa collected from New Delhi to save some time.

Also, is the authorization letter just a short 1-2 sentence letter with the applicant's signature, or is there something more official? Does it need to be attested? My wife's father will be retrieving her passport. Thanks!

You have to wait until your petition gets to the embassy to reschedule. Once NVC schedule you they are done with you. Give it about a week to get to your embassy then write your email.

Thanks! I will do as you suggested. From an another response, I understand that Mumbai consulate is unlikely to entertain pre-ponement and given the volume of IV cases it handles I can imagine it fair. But again, I am taking my chances. So let's see.

Thanks again!

Hi, sometimes people with earlier priority dates get an earlier interview irrespective of the CC date. Also, I think the Mumbai Consulate doesn't entertain pre-ponement of interview. You can reschedule missed appointments.

Thanks. I believe that's true with the Mumbai consulate, but nonetheless I am going to take my chances. ;-)
