I don't think it makes any difference….you can tell the truth…about working…only if they ask. Just the important point is that you didn't look for employment in USA. the real question is -- is your marriage real or done for a green card… thats it…at least thats my understanding…what you do for employment doesn't make a difference as long as you haven't committed crimes of any kind. :). And your employment was after you submitted your DS260 so you didn't give any incorrect information.

When I filled my ds260 I was unemployed. Then for less than 3 months I worked in sept oct and nov. And now I quit again after getting the date Should I mention this at interview. Or should I just not give unnecessary information?

Hi All! After nearly a year, we are finally done with this process!! My husband had his interview in Sydney yesterday and said it was a breeze and he was approved on the spot! Woooooo!!! Thank you to everyone here for their support, help, and heart. We did this without a lawyer and because of Visa Journey, we had no hiccups or checklists what so ever. Best of luck to all those still waiting, your turn will come (and it feels SO good!). Happy Holidays everyone :)

Congrats Dilmera !! Finally your jouney is over ..Good Luck !! How much time did it take for you to get the passport back with visa after interview?

Also Could you please tell us how POE went at JFK..Just a small summary...Thanks

Thank you and good luck to you. My interview was on Friday, November 7 and when I checked next day the CEAC website status was "issued." My passport was ready to pickup in my city on November 12. For the POE at JFK, I took a flight from Hyd, India to DXB and from DXB to JFK. I had read previously about a preclearance location at DXB, but there was no preclearance at DXB. When I landed at JFK, an airport official called out first-time visitors to go one way, I asked even if immigrants are supposed to be going that way and he was sort of clueless and told me yes, so I joined that line. My husband then found out it was the visitors' line. He called me to the CBP section where immigrants should head. I was led to a room where a family of three and a lady waited. There was only one officer and he asked me to get my immigrant envelope and passport ready. He dealt with the family of three and the lady and during that time two more families came, three more officers came and the officer dealing with me was supposed to get off of his shift. He called me, snapped my photo and then left to check on something I guess. One of the other family that came after me was done and then an officer remarked to the other officers what was up with me, that I had been there too long. He took my signature, my finger print and said I was good to go. Then the first officer got back. My husband didn't have his passport stamped so he was going back to the area where he was supposed to get his stamp, but the helpful officer made someone at a counter nearby to get it done. Very helpful person. No hassles at POE except for when we had our bags checked. The officer was courteous. We had quite a bit of stuff with us and he checked all of it. Trolleys cost $6, so it would be better for anyone immigrating to the US to have some cash handy.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

Wait for your Green card and your SS card. If the SS card doesn't come in abt 2 weeks just go to the social security office and request it. Relax and enjoy now. Take things at your own pace. If a drivers license you want start reading up on it. Once you get SS Card and green card you can go for it.

But most of all right now really just sit back and breathe and enjoy. you deserve a break and a wooooo saaaaaa. :goofy:

I called NVC today and they said that my case was expedite and now I have to call US Embassy in New Delhi. NVC will not be the one to schedule my interview. The rep I spoke with she said that I need to figure out interview date with US Embassy in New Delhi. She said that once case is approved on expedite they just take all my document and send it to US Embassy in Delhi. All my documents were send to New Delhi Embassy on November 25,2014. Now I don't know if I need to just sit and wait for US Embassy to reach out to us or we should call them to schedule interview date ourselves. Please advise any one who knows how expedite case goes.

may I know what the confirmation looks like? Mine was 21st too, but received a 2nd email last 26th of nov. saying again that my case was complete but with an attachment. Is the attachment the confirmation letter? I'm really curious. Thank you!

I'm sorry I do not have a copy of the email where I am at right now. What I received was a general communication email that said the email was regarding the case the NVC was working on, and it included an attachment. The attachment was a letter that said all documents necessary to complete the NVC processing of the case were received and that as soon as the interview date had been scheduled the applicant and petitioner would be notified.

So, in direct answer, yes, the attachment would be the a case complete notification.
