Some embassies like India and a few others have a separate place they do biometrics (fingerprinting). Most of us just do it at interview time.

Your Dwheelsness where does Egypt stack up to the rest? Rep told me they will be scheduling the first week of Jan but not sure if that was just a general statement or not.

Hard to say. For January they waited until the 15th. So it's a wait and see. But at least they are off that long wait rollercoaster.

Any word on whether they'll be scheduling interviews in the run up to new year's eve, or are they waiting until Jan 5th?

Also, I'm a bit confused as to what our CC date actually is. We received an email with a checklist on 13th December for a missing figure on the AOS, which it says to just bring with us to the embassy. Then we got the email on 18th December stating that all documentation necessary has been received, and as soon as an interview has been scheduled, we will be contacted. So is our CC date the 13th or the 18th?? I'm holding off on phoning them until after the New Year's break, so am just curious if anyone can say which of those emails counts as CC.

No one knows. Would love to say they will start tomorrow. That's the usually scheduling time. But don't know.

You got CC email Dec. 18th. Probably 11th or 13th. The CC email comes 7 days after you get case complete so it could very well been the 11th.

I've reviewed the wiki and guides and can't find the answer to this one. Can someone confirm that for my interview, I don't need to bring originals of the docs already sent to NVC in my AOS/IV package?

(Otherwise I need to reapply for new birth certs, marriage certs etc.)

I don't believe I do, I just want to double-check.

EDIT: OK, I've confirmed I don't need the originals. But I do need copies. And of course the originals I sent were the last ones I had and I didn't copy them. Oops, and Damn!

You don't need copies or originals. Many embassies have that posted because many filed at embassy. Whatever you filed at NVC is sent to embassy. Just bring whatever evidence you want to bring and passport.

Status finally changed to "Ready" on the CEAC Website and it's officially in the Cairo embassy. ? Medical is done and we r just waiting til interview date: January 11, 2015....let the waiting continue & the countdown begin!

Hope everyone had a good christmas & has a blessed New Year and may all of us be with our spouses in 2015! ?
