My status changed to issued guys!!! Finally after exactly 15 days!! And one week exactly from AOS submission! Waiting to pick up the passport now!

Did they start scheduling interviews yet? Im Dec 10th cc and im desperately waiting for my interview date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

February scheduling should be starting up 1st week in January. I know many embassies are going to be short staff through the holidays. Even though there are still interviews.

Like Lagos wouldn't be fully staffed until January 15th. This will allow many of the staff to go home. So hang on. Maybe a Christmas surprise and they will start early who knows with NVC right.

Finally case complete yesterday, December 22, 2014. I have mixed feelings right about now. 8 months at NVC and finally cc. But, im anxious about the interview. Typically how long is the actual interview at the consulate??? I have sooo many questions in my head right now!!!

What do you mean how long is the interview? You mean how long will you be at the embassy? That depends on what questions, evidences the situation all kinds of things. It can be short long, non-eventful. No one knows. Usually Canada is pretty good.

Ask away your questions. Or you can always ask in the Canadian forum but we have Canadians here that can answer also. if its more Canadian specific

hi VJ friends. i have a quick question. whats the minimum amount of money is enough or safe side for joint sponsor ? (we showed 90 thousand plus,is it enough?)

i have seen people were denied due to joint sponsor . was it because lack of income? please any information given will be truly appreciated.

The joint sponsor has to meet the poverty guidelines it has nothing to do with a fixed amount. If the people you mentioned were denied it was because their joint sponsor didn't meet the guideline for the household size plus the immigrant.

Is the joint sponsor qualifying on assets only if so it has to be 3 times the amount needed to meet the amount.

I'm at work and just can't seem to focus... My husband will be flying in tomorrow and that's all I can think about. To say I'm excited does not begin to explain what I feel.

Unfortunately, the expedite for interview does not extend automatically onto all combined cases.

Last Friday, the rep said that since my mother's case has expedite and as her case combined with daughter's case, it is likely that the supervisor will send both of the case immediately to the embassy. The rep said that both of the cases she put on the table supervisor to resolve the issue.

We risked, and appointed interview on January 8, without waiting for cases to be sent. On Monday morning, we have appointed a medical examination on Jan. 5. Bought tickets and booked hotel.

Husband called to NVC on Monday to find out why the cases were not sent on Friday. It turned out that the supervisor has made a request to the Embassy of the daughter's case (that is not expedited) to schedule a date for her interview!!! Why? Babies do not need to be present at the interview. Simply send our documents!

They don't make it easy do they. Kids under 13 I don't think have to be at interview. But still like you said at least get the paperwork there. Good grief NVC.

You can only pay after receiving visa and you must pay it before departing to US...In order to pay you need case ID and Alien number .. some officers give out immigration fee instruction handout at the end of the interview or you will receive it with the visa..

But this is done right there at the same place right after so my wife can get her visa right away?

Getting the visa depends on each consulate.. I remember Chennai Consulate used to have next day pickup for CR1 .. now its 3-7 days.. you should check your consulate site.. some have next day pickup from consulate.. If you choose a pick up location..Pick up will be available 4-7 days after visa printed...

It's really no hurry. You can pay when she gets to US even. You have a year to pay if you wish. Don't worry.

Oh wow, I thought it was right away, but thanks anyways!! By the way DWheels, just got my cc confirmation email today, exactly 1 week after cc. I'm on hold with NVC right now to see if any news on interview date...just dreaming...lol

Hi guys!!!

so... I just came back from the medical exam, everything went well apparently.

the doctor asked me if I drink and I said yes... on ocassiion and if I use drugs, which I once tried weed per peer pressure but I just didn't care for it and never tried it again.

I was a little worried because I was being send over to the psychologist for an evaluation, but... psychologist said that she wouldn't give any recommendations to the consulate that everything looked ok.

has anyone had an experience like that before?
