Well the good news is my fiancee's initial 3-day sputum test at SLEC came back negative. Now we're just trying to plan ahead and get an eta on when she might be able to finally get here. Just wondering if I could get some feedback as to how soon we can re-schedule her interview after we get the culture results (Jan 26-assuming all is ok)? I'd like to ultimately book it right after the 26th if possible. Could anyone share their experiences with this and how long after their results they had their interview and got their visa? thanks

3- day sputum is just the collecting (not results)... culture results will not be for 60 days! You better strap on the patience.

You can schedule the interview ASAP once you know the culture is negative - in 60 days.

That's good her smears were negative. Those with positive smear start DOT pronto.

If negative cultures after 60 days, then you are probably looking at an early February interview.

If positive cultures within 60 days, then you are probably looking at a July or August interview.

There's not an accurate way to predict the timeframe for visa receipt after the interview. For me personally, I'm just guessing 2 weeks. Some will be shorter processing time and some will be longer.

As of today 1Dec, USEM appointments up to December 13th are open online.

you might want to wait to get the result from the culture of her smear just to be sure. It will be 60days, they give give you a date as to when you can call them for the result, but if they will call your fiancee before that date, it means positive and she needs to do the 6-month treatment. Wait until she can call them, and after that it is the safest time to reschedule her interview. My experience was, I checked online for the available date, it's not until 2 weeks after the schedule continuation of the medical so i called USEM and got a date 4days after the medical.. Good luck.

I was actually thinking of just scheduling the interview a week after the results day as soon as I can....that way I have the soonest day available. I can always reschedule if I have to

Is it possible to schedule the interview for the day after the results?? i want to move things along as fast as possible. Does it take a few days for the results to get to the embassy?. Or can she pick them up directly from slec?

From what we have seen, yes that is possible. It seems like in almost all cases the patient is given the negative TB results in one day along with completing the remaining requirements, such as immunization.

If it was me, I'd allow a week or so cushion time in there though and consider an early February appointment. Recently it has been easy to schedule USEM appointments within a week of completing medical because so many appointments are available.

It takes a few days for the file to get over to the embassy and get matched up with the case file.

OK, I'm going to schedule her interview for the 28th or 29th of Jan. (she gets results the 26th). I was hoping she could wrap everything up on the 26th. As long as results are good, is it possible to request at st. lukes that she gets her immunizations that day? If not, at least the next day. Or maybe just call for results on the 26th, and fly her to manila the next day for immunizations, set up interview for 2 days later. But Im leaning more on just having her go right to slec on the 26th, ask for her results, and request her shots. Maybe she could take results with her to interview. If not, hopefully 2 days will be enough time for the embassy to receive them. Please weigh in on what you think. Thank you again

Once SLEC releases the results of the sputum they will schedule for vaccinations, hopefully the same day, but one never knows.

Medical not being there for the interview can cause a few weeks delay, if not longer.
