Upgrading F2A to IR-1/CR-1

Hello,

My I130 immigration petition has been approved and it is at NVC now. I am the beneficiary. I am under F2A so the approved petition is pending at NVC since September, 2014. I got my NVC Case number and IIN. On Nov 26 my husband took the naturalization oath and became citizen. He emailed a copy of his naturalization certificate to NVC to update our case. How long will it take to update our case from F2A to IR1/CR1? While upgrading will my case reamain pending as it is now? Or will I be able to pay the AOS and IV fees anytime soon? I want my case to move soon.

hi im on the same issue.my case was approved on February 2014 and send to nvc .I was a LPR that time and I naturalize on November 2014 and send the copy of naturalization and approval letter on the same day as my oath .I called them after 12 days to make sure they received n they said they don't have it and asked me to resend it which I did on 18 November and someone received it and signed as I saw in the fedex tracking.i called them twice already after November 18 and they said its not in their system although they received it.i m so tired of waiting .they said me it will take 60 days after they received it to upgrade.so worried .as we r on the same issues plz updates urs if anything good happens thx

Sure, I will keep you updated. Also let me know if you get to know something. My husband called them and they told the same old 60 days. This is frustrating.

Any update?? My husband is calling them every week only to get the 60 days bs. Have you emailed them a copy of your naturalization certificate? We did both, mailed and emailed.

Yes i have mailed twice first tym they said they didn't have it and told me to resend which i did and also emailed them to upgrade but still nothing heard from them its like 34 days from the first timr i send so much hurting with this process

Same old thing. 60 days wait from the date they have received the mail to upgrade the case status or until the email for upgrade in the waiting queue is eligible for processing. Whichever is earlier. What about your case? Any updates?

Did u call them to make sure they have ur mail and email coz the first time i send was november 5 and still they don't have it. The second time i send was on November 20 and they don't have that too.that sucks and now on December 24 i have emailed asknvc by filling up inquiry form and attatched them the document again. Lets c how long will they take that. Nvc sucks too much so frustrating.

That's terrible!! They received the email but don't know about the mail. I will ask my husband to call them and find out. Email sent on nov 26 and mailed on nov 28.

Hi guys!! I also went through the same situation. I upgraded my petition to cr-1 from f2a after i natrulized.it was in july 2014. I emailed copy of my natrulized doc and waited them to review. When i called they told me to wait 6O days to review coz its not showing in system. After 30 days i called again and ask the operater if its already in syste. She said no. And asked me to wait 30 more days.( i also asked her if i should send it again , she says its just gonna be duplicate, wont make any difference) she was wrong. I calked a week after and spoke to different operater and still nit showing in system. She asked me to send it again. She told me it may take 60 days to review it but should be in system within couple of days once they received. I send it again. Next day i got email stating they received my email and it may 60 days to review it. Called after 3 days it was in their system. Im just sharing my story coz nvc operater wont care much and hurry to hang up. I lost 37 days because of first operater. So i suggest u guys to make sure it updates in their system once they receive ur email or usps mail. In my experience if theybdont have in their system, they have not received ur doc yet. Gud luck.

So is ur case upgraded now n if yes after how many month since u sent ur naturalization.did u got ur visa if yes how many months after ur case upgraded?

Yes. My case was upgraded within 2 weeks once they got my netrulized doc. And finally interview is scheduled for feb 11. Cc on 23 dec. Gud luck to u guys.
