Sorry about this silly question, but what is really a transcript? I was reading about some tax documents I need to enclose and I can see from my husband's taxes several forms with numbers. Sorry about that and thanks for the help.

Not silly. Many of us didn't know either. Its a document that shows the USCs tax filing for a particular year based on the entire group of documents submitted in the tax filing process. This transcript comes directly from the U S IRS rather than from the USC. If the USC wants to submit copies of the tax filing they can but they must also send every supporting document as we.. This is why the transcript is easier and better.

Find the IRS web site then the link to transcripts. These you can download free.
