Ok this is the deal-my man is trying to get all of his vaccination records from Ireland & they are giving him a hard time. Obviously he rec'd shots for polio, measles, mumps & others but they would have been administered when he was a baby.

He has had a few doctors since then so How in the world is he going to get all this info?

I called the place where he had his K-1 exam & they have been NO help at all.

can anyone tell me where to begin here???

My husband had no record of his vaccinations either. His general doctor drew his blood and had it tested for all of the titers. He wound up needing to update his tetanus and that was all. The doc completed a vaccination record which was given to the panel physician when he went for his K1 medical. No problems.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

My man has had all the shots he needs I guess we will have to go somewhere here-he will have to get tested for everything & then go to a "gov't" doc that will transfer all the info onto the I-693.

what a pain in the a*s!!!! I can't believe the docs in Ireland are giving him such a hard time!

thanks for your response

Irish, from what my hubby tells me, they just don't fuss over immunization records over there like we do here. I've read many a tale on VJ like yours.

Jen's advise of the titre test would probably be less hassle for you guys in the long run. My opinion.

Just spoke to the doctor that performed the medical in Dublin. He is going to send me a letter stating that Gav had the medical-all blood tests(including x-ray) were done & that he had all his vaccinations.

Will this be good enough for a doctor here to fill in the I-163????

any ideas?

I thought they were supposed to fill out a DS-3025 for him. And considering the price of the medical, they certainly could be more helpful...

the doc said they "think" they gave him a copy-he says they didn't. I am just hoping that this would be good enough for a doc here to transfer the info onto a I-163.

I would think it is but I have been wrong before(many times)

Yes it would. In some cases it is even good enough by itself - see the tip #1: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=307

nice one! thanks for this link.

I will pay the $25 to have it transferred(just to avoid an RFE). I am so glad I called again, the doctor got on the phone which is great because last week I spoke to the rudest nurse-she was no help at all.

sometimes persistence pays off
