RFE

I just got my RFE letter and it says we don't meet the 125 % of the poverty guideline...

it is not true because we are way above it...

I am confused and getting in a panic mode here.

Has it happened to somebody ? Maybe they are just wanting something else ? We sent the I-864 along with the 2005 taxes and pay stubs. Maybe they are wanting employer letter or something ? heeeeeeeeelpppppp

I think with the I-864 you need the past 3 years of tax returns not just 1, Also a leter from your bank showing all the deposits in the past year and your current balance. On top of the pay stubs usually a letter from your employer stating your position, length of employment, and salary. These may be some of the things they are looking for with your RFE.

The previous year's tax return is all that's necessary if that demonstrates your eligibility as a sponsor.

What did the RFE request for you to provide?

Our income has been over $1 million for 3 years, shown on W2's and they still wanted more info! So don't woory about it and send then what they want. It's jus painful though.

I had a letter of employment from my work, copies of my child support checks (plus documentation to back that up) as well as my assets. If you have any other form of income or assets, you need to list them, even if it puts you way over the limit as it did with me.

We sent only the one year along with everything else, and my cosponsor made about 4 times the poverty line, and still got an RFE for the past 3 years of tax returns among other things. So, even though it says past year, I think they really want you to send everything Including your firstborn child!
