Not from what I saw. I was there that day. Trapped in Haneda Airport. They handled it pretty well considering how many people were killed. The Japanese kept their composure and waited for instructions. On the days they didn't get food they said thank you and waited for their turn.

It's about time you posted. Are you hiding from us lately?

Sorry, getting ready to retire so I have to get all this paperwork done so I fly out right afterwards. Also, when it comes to this subject, I'm trying not to get all worked up since I have folks here all day talking about it and I've already eviscerated quite a few people when they stepped to me asking my opinion.

Actually they did little at the time. No electricity, so no TV. We only heard about the tsunami and the Fukushima meltdown through radios- no visuals. No water, nothing. People had to queue up at stores and were only allowed to buy a few provisions per person. Conflicting news from the Japanese and US government about safety from nuclear radiation. In spite of this it was a very calm experience. Everyone pulled together.

Who in Louisiana stood up and allowed the people down there to do this????...... no one. No one took control. The politicians ran and left the people. FEMA took forever to get supplies to the super dom. Katrina is a classic example of the government failing its' people

I was in the centre of Sendai when it happened. The government did little. After three weeks I managed to get evacuated to the UK. Going to Tokyo at that time was like going to a different country.

People here are trained as to how to react in an emergency. I just wanted to drink some booze and try to forget about it. None of my Japanese friends even thought about drinking, got up early every morning to line up infront of shops to buy provisions for their families. 仕方がない attitude.

Yes. I had a co-worker asked me if I watched the riots on tv. I laughed. I told her I have other things to do with my life. I don't agree with the news using this unfortunate situation for ratings. the freaking audacity of people as if black people are the only ones protesting.

We know the Japanese are always prepared.

Our government does little to prepare any one in the U.S. for disasters. They are unprepared themselves. But I bet they got evac plans for their nice little cozy underground lofts for their families though.

That's what I saw. I thought the govt was assisting, but folks just know how to handle business. It happened on Friday, but I was flown out by Sunday, due to my knowing travel and being able to rebook a flight.

That's my beef. The riots are taking away from the actual message. Now all we get to hear is how violent and stupid black people are.

The welfare mentality does that to people . The government will not be there to save your *** in a major emergency. .You have to do things to ensure your survival. . A few weeks of food and water set aside . A way to cook without electric power.. Clothes and bedding to survive in your area for the season. I have friends that are set for a year in an emergency. It may be overkill to some it depends on how you are raised ... My grandparents put up at least 500 canning jars of food in a year. They had an acre of garden , peach, pear. apple trees . They survived the depression without too much help from the government. Never got electric until after WW2. Cooked and baked on a wood . One only has to look to the Amish to find that lifestyle .

Florida currently has more concealed-carry permit holders than any other state, with 1,269,021 issued as of May 14, 2014

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

This is the 21st century. No one stocks up expecting WW2 anymore.

We pay the government to prepare us as USCs. Just because you are on welfare does not mean you are not a citizen of the government that swears to uphold the law and protect it's citizens.
