kind of quiet on this thread this month. We had our AOS interview in June 19th. It was a little bit like I had read from others reviews, but in the end we were told we would get a written repsonse in 2-4 weeks. our 2:30pm interview didn't start until 3:45. I am wondering if having a translator for her made them delay a decision? the interviewer did take the I-94 but not the EAD. the next day we recieved a case status email saying a Welcome letter had been sent out and Saturday we recieved the welcome letter in the mail stating she should get her green card in about 3 weeks.

Well, at least we are done with this for 21 months ...

now we can plan a trip to Niagra Falls Canada and our next trip to thailand. Now thats another story. she wants to go in april for new years and the water festival. But I looked at the historical weather data for April and I don't think I will survice the heat and humidity. I may have convinced her to go in Feb or Mar! :-)

In section 7 of the Advance Parol it asks"On a separate sheet(s) of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrantissuance of advance parole. Include copies of any documents you wish considered. (See instructions.)"

What do I say?

Also Jass has decided to use her maiden name as her middle name. It seems very strage filling out all these forms using her maiden name as her middle name and her new last name( as of this Saturday) as her last name. Do they expect to see this on the forms?

Thanks

We did not do AP but I did see one person write "I applied for (and got granted within 10 days...) AP on the basis that 'I wanted the security of knowing that if something happened to anyone in my friends and family that I would have the freedon to travel to be with them. I received the 2 forms within 10 days, and travelled back home to nEngland for a holiday with my husband a week after I received the forms."

also, Paiwan is using her thai last name as her middle name here, and usually just as a middle initial in most cases. I think this is a common thing to do. Now, its just a matter of getting her passport and thai id card changed. I am going to look into getting her passport changed before we go back to thailand, through the thai embassy in DC.

That's what i did also.. but i cut my last name in half (and still have meaning too :D ) so it's not too long.. in my Driver's licence my name apprear in full. on my GC it appear both way..just innitial and full name.

I dont think they expect to see it. If she wants, she doesnt need a middle name. :D But I think useing Thai last name as middle name creates a feeling that i'm still who i am and i'm still Thai. :luv:

Mike,

Jass qualifies for advance parole because she's a K1 pending adjustment of status. The circumstances that warrant issuance are .... damned if I know - you haven't told us. Whatever they are, write them down.

Rodjanaa also uses her maiden name as her middle name. This caused me mild amusement at Don Muang recently when the airline staff compared her Green Card to her passport and then asked to see evidence that she was the same person identified in both. The Green Card shows her full middle name, Firstname Middlename is an exact match with her passport Firstname Lastname.

Paiwan recieved her green card in the mail yesterday. she looked at and and said "its white. only a little bit green". she thought that was strange that all this talk about a "green" card turned out to be mostly white. Now we can plan for a trip to Niagra Falls Ontario.

I got my green card today. I am so glad. It has been a worry because I haven't received my EAD card since it has been approved on March 10.

but she didn't know that! :P I even told her before she got it that it wasn't really a "green" card. but if we were to call it something else it just wouldn't feel right. as long as there is even a little bit of green on it we can, in the spirit of immigration milestones, continue to call it a green card. i think if they made it all blue we would *still* call it a green card. :D

Hi All,

My wife Bennie arrived in the US on 30 June on a K3. We are now just starting the AOS process. I am hoping some of you may have experience with K3 AOS and can help with the following questions:

Is there any process for abondaning the I-130? Any forms to fill out?

On the I-485:

1) We do not have an A# that I know of. At least I can not find on any documentation that we have. Am I missing something?

2) We filled out a I-94 but immigration just took it away from Bennie and there is nothing stapled in her passport. What do we put for "I-94#"?

3) What should we put for "Current USCIS Status"?

4) What do we put for "Were you inspected by a U.S. Immigration Officer?" She was interviewed at POE. Would this warrant a yes?

5) What do we put for "In what status did you last enter?" they do not mention K-3 here......should we just write in K-3?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Jim
