387,

Apply for it quickly. 1-2 weeks after entry usually works well.

Yodrak

I dont understand how you all received you SSN so quick. I am working on my AOS papers hoping to turn it in by next week.

anya-D,

MDYoung advises that a K1's application for a SSN must be made no later than 2 weeks before the I-94 expires.

Yodrak

You can pply for ssn before applying for AOS.... the only key is the I-94 have to be valid and is 30 days before the I-94 expire... and it is valid for 90 days from the day she enter the US. ... i think they just need her application (i d/l it from their site) and marriage certificate and a valid I-94 (and her passport) it hink that's it... hope i didnt forget anything ^^

If you apply for the SSN during that time you will get the SSN soon.. but if the I-94 expires or will expires in 30 days (please check again.. i remember it was 30 days) then you need to wait for her EAD to be able to apply for the SSN

I got my SSN from the time i was in the US before - so i only have t change my name but i went there a little too late my I-94 was almost expire so it's not valid so i have to wait for my EAD and then I can go change my name on my SSN... now i got my EAD and went to the change my name they said it'll take them up to 4 weeks to verified my document so i dont have the SSN card yet and so i cant change my name in my driver's licence too :crying:

I was wrong - sorry... i went there 2 days after my I-94 expired (just remember it now) and there's nothing to do with the 30 days prior to the expires date.. just go before the I-94 expires you should have no problem

387,

You do not have to file AR-11. But she does.

You may be filling out I-485 and I-765 for her but she is filing the applications ,not you.

If she files I-765 concurrent with or after filing I-485 she is C9

Her I-94. You don't have one. Visit the SSA office quickly if she hasn't already, and have her apply in her maiden name to minimize the possiblity of problems due to questionable K1 status.

Yodrak

I moved after she enter the U.S on K1. Do I have to file AR11?

I am filling I-485 and I-765 using my new address and her new last name.

How do I answer question # 16 on I-765? (a)(6) or ©(9)?

Our I-94 will expired May 13

My AOS is approved!!!! YEY

we went to charlotte today (3 hrs drive) for 9.30 appointment.. they called us in at 9.20 (we arrived like 45 mins early) and she just took our papers and ask me only one question..."how did we meet" and then we talked all about our dog and her dogs and then she said i'm approved!! YEY !! we went out at 9.35am... in and out.. so fast!

I was kinda panic though so I gave her my real documents (also my W2) and i wasnt thinking about it until we drove back.. i have to ask for a replancment we had the copy but well.. she got both the real one and the copy one and problably didnt notice it ... or - it might just laying around in the waiting area.. who know.. i know only i dont have it now.. lol

she also took my EAD cards (the real one and the interim one) and i have a stamp on my passport - the Green Card will be in a mail about 2 weeks

oh.. she mention that she was so surprised our case is done so fast.... normally Charllote office takes longer time... we just fly!!!

now everything is done i can rest for 2 years ^^

Hey everyone, looks like we'll be having a few mor Thai-US AOS applications in the near future! Thought I'd bump this thread back to the top, and see if we can keep it active! :D

I've got most of my paperwork together, and just mostly need the marriage certificate to wrap things up.

I'm curious how many of you successfully used the copy of their DS-3025 when submitting their AOS package, or how many went ahead and had a Civil Surgeon transcribe the information onto the I-693A?

Thanks,

Robert
