Both myself and my wife are already dual citizens (I'm NZ/UK, she is USA/Malta), that said - I can see where me getting citizenship faster would be a benefit once she finishes her masters if she goes for a Government/Defense related job. That said, citizenship also has obligations, like USA taxation on foreign income etc.

I'll give it a week or so, lawyers are suggesting it should be soon, they aren't sounding worried.

I've already travelled and returned so now I have my freedom - I'm happy. For me, citizenship isn't the goal, it's being with my wife.

Gotcha! That's completely different then. I had no idea. Well, if you and your wife don't plan on living in the US forever then it's no big deal and you won't have to deal with taxes.

USA taxation on worldwide income doesn't wait for citizenship.

As permanent resident . . . the law takes effect.

And it can even take effect before permanent residency.

For instance, if you and spouse want to file joint tax return with its substantial tax benefits, the non-resident has to agree to be subject to USA taxation of world wide income.

Hey guys.

Yesterday while walking on the streets, I was stopped by a policeman. I had a black bag with a beer in it, and he asked me if there's an open drink in it. I said yes because I did open it before but later I decided not to drink from it. He took my ID. I wasn't even drinking, it was just such an unfortunate situation. Finally I didn't get charged, no fine, nothing, he just gave back my ID after several minutes. I was allowed to leave and didn't get anything to sign, etc. He told me to throw the bottle away. Is it something that I should mention at the interview?

My wife and I have filed I485 back in November 14' (Adjusting from K-1 visa, now married), got the fingerprints done. Received a letter requesting more paperwork. We responded to it and National Benefit Center received our response mail on January 7, 2015.

We haven't heard anything since then?

Question is: Is this typically how long it takes? Because on of the letters it says, we should hear back within 60 days. It sure is more than 60 days by now.

I filed on the same day, also had an RFE, also done my fingerprints ...

I'm still waiting for my interview notice as well... there are a few of us in the same position. Then again, I've also got a friend who filed a few days earlier than me and got his green card a month ago!

Is the standard procedure that USCIS notifies us (on the website and via email) that they approved EAD card and say nothing about the AP part;

and then you get the combined EAD/AP card anyway?

On my MSC case number for the AP application, it said that "on Feb 24th we approved your application for travel document". You will also receive a letter stating that AP was approved and it is recommended to take it with you when you travel.
