Noura is correct, Nouna. Moh's appt was at 7:45am, he was not interviewed until around 10am. It's not unusual to wait several hours esp. in Cairo. Cairo and Casa are like apples and oranges. Negativity is really unnecessary here. I would appreciate it if this negative person would sod off. Thank you.

Why is it that she drags this dark cloud everywhere?

I sure hope Nouna is getting some sleep and having sweet dreams! Catherine - call her!!!

You aren't the only one!!! Catherine, any word yet??

Insha'Allah everything went well!

:)

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

haha i'm here... after going to sleep at 4:30am, I just got up. I did see Catherine's call and text msg but was soooo tired.

Ummm so where do I begin?

At about 4:15am my time (12:15 Cairo) his phone finally was switched on. He had just walked out. I was dying to know what happened, he was walking to his car... he said, 'well something weird happened' I got scared...

Ok, he went in at 7:30 exactly, was waiting for 3.5 hours until it was his turn. While waiting he made a few friends there, some married, some engaged etc.

Ahmed had a man interview him, he said the guy looked at all the pics, looked at some letters I've sent, my graduation invitation :) etc. He asked how we met, when we met, what religion we are. Ahmed had a few pics from just a few weeks ago, and had the date printed on them, so he showed the guy that I was just there 2 weeks away because he also asked how many times have you seen each other...

He had 2 fingerprints taken.

He said the guy was pretty nice throughout the interview. At the end he told him, "ok, there are checks and things that need to be done" Ahmed asked how long it would take, the man said "About a month or two"

And he was done, he had given the guy his birth cert, passport, and army cert thing.

He needs the original copy of his army certificate for the bank he works at, so he needed to get that back.

He was about to leave the embassy when he remembered the guy still had the army and birth cert's so he went back to him... told him 'excuse me I didn't get the army cert back'

The man said "oh ok go ahead and take your passport also."

Ahmed said "But I thought you need to keep that."

Man "No, its ok. When we are done we will ask you to send it to us."

Ahmed was confused... said ok... took his things... and left...

That is the weird thing he said that happened..... So..... now..... is this normal???

The man was nice and at the end had told him basically ok that he was approved and just needed to wait for AP... but when he went back to get his army cert (which they have a copy of) the man said just take this also and gave him his passport....

I've heard it's not a good thing when they don't keep your passport, is this true?

I could hardly sleep... I wanted to post right away so I'd wake up and find responses, but honestly didn't feel like staying up any longer...

Ahmed has already paid the dumb tnt or dhl shipping fee for them to send his passport back to him, so why didn't they keep it?

I don't think it is anything to worry about, N!! I know they kept Ahmed's passport (they told him he would get it back in 10 days, hahahahah), but then they had it for months . . . which can be a problem too! Maybe that is why they gave it back to him . . . knowing so many ppl that the embassy had their passports for several months.

I think it sounds really good . . . he paid the fee, LOL!! They always get that money, don't they. He just has to send/take it back to them when they are ready to give him the visa . . . and I guess they will send it back to him with the visa in it!

Now you just have to wait for those checks to be done. Sounds like you are now officially a member of the AP/AR club!

Soooooooooooooo, please don't worry!!!
