K-3 VS CR-1

I am a Us citizen. I got married in the country of my birth and already filed for I-130. I am also thinking about going with I-129F as well as soon as I receive the NOA-1 from USCIS. K-3 seems to be processing faster than CR-1 now. But I heard from few that while getting K-3 visa would be faster than CR-1, adjusting the status after coming to the USA can be painstaking, it takes months and requires 2-3 interviews. Is it true? Would the adjustment of status in USA be painstaking and grilling? My wife and I won't worry about her getting a job after she comes to USA. She has no plan to work here.

Another thing I heard, that is, it would take her 5 years to be eligible for US citizenship, if she gets the green card through K-3 as opposed to CR-1's 3 years. It does not seem reasonable, but that is what I heard.

Please Advise. Thank you.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Adjustment of status usually take 1 interview. Adjustment of status takes about 6 months to many years depending on where you live. I don't think AOS is grilling or painstaking at all. You are with your loved ones, instead of being apart.

Citizenship wait time for a legal permanent resident married to a US citizen is 3 years after the alien becomes LPR. It doesn't matter which visa the alien arrives on.

We've filed the I-130 (for CR-1) and the I-129F (for K3) with the idea that I'll initially come to the US on the K3, then return home for the I-130 interview once it's ready (since the local office is currently processing AOS applications from Sept '04).
