visa ISSUED after 43 months of AP .....Alhamdolillah my father got his visa after 43 months of AP and this torture is finally ended.......I m a silent reader of this forum for at least two years ....this case was I-R 5 or C-R 5 ( parents of US citizen ) ......I applied for my both parents almost 5 years ago .......they were interviewed after approax 10 months of initial application ....interview was very smooth ...only 5-6 standard questions ....( congratulations , you r approved for the visa and will get it in a few months ) .....case was put to AP .....and then wait.....wait .....and ...wait....mother's case was showing "READY"on ceac website for initial few months ( then showing AP) but no visa issued....repeated inquiries were made frequently but as usual in vain.....later on the embassy replied that mother's visa is ready but is not being issued because the applicant mentioned in the application that they want to travel together.......then we e mailed them again that she is willing to travel alone ......she was issued visa after two years of her interview ......father's case was still in AP ....we did contact congressman and senator but only the case was updated on ceac. and nothing else.....in the mean while we submitted medical for four times.....and form DS-260....my father is a retired small businessman......he has one of the most common name in the country.....he is an old man ....Embassy never objected on anything.....never asked for any document or further evidence.......just standard AP reply in e mails............ you can very well imagine our mental condition.....we all brothers and sisters are US citizens.....mother is also here in USA....only my father was in pakistan facing one of the longest AP.......there were apparantly no red flags according to our knowledge.....Finally he got his passport a few days ago after those finger prints and oath .......( passport received through Amex of course )..........congratulations to iffat nasim and all others who got the visa.....I m praying for others who r still in this black hole......i believe there is no harm in contacting the congressman or senator if the case is in AP for 5-6 months...just keep on reminding the embassy through e mails or letters after every 5-6 weeks if the case is in AP for 5-6 months....if the case is genuine , visa will b issued INSHAALLAH........thank you my VJ friends and wish you good luck.....my prayers are with you....

Did he get visa immediately after fingerprints?

Thank you Sarahch and others for congratulations......I strongly believe you people won't have to wait much now .......Yes, exactly two days after finger prints and oath he got call from Amax to collect his passport..........When we sent the fresh medical to embassy ( in fact, doctor office mailed it directly ) , it took them almost 2 months to e mail us for this finger prints and oath appointment....they did not call us via telephone......just the e mail.......the first thing they said after introduction , can you travel within 6 weeks ( they told the specific date ) because your medical is expiring on that date.....otherwise , you will have to submit a new medical.

Thanks for the info.

My case is a bit different. I had my finger prints and oath taking on 22 oct 14 alongwith my family. The rest of the family got their visas. Mine was put under AP. They didnt take my medical then. In feb they asked my medical, which i submitted in march.

Now keeping my fingers crossed. may i get my visa before medical expiry.

I had contacted the senator's office to get my husband's passport back, they replied within a day and contacted my husband to confirm if his phone number was the same and to go to the american express office when they call. the thing is, the ceac never updated after they emailed back, does anyone know if their system might be down as it has been in the news or they dont update records when a passport is sent back, i am a bit worried why the case status didnt update.

There should have been an update when they answered the senator's office and another one when they called your husband. They say the DOS is having problems with their computers. The ceac website must have been affected.

i have heard that due to the site issue at CEAC, they are currently holding onto issuing visas worldwide especially after June 9. I am not sure how accurate this news is but perhaps someone can confirm

You are right, the islamabad embassy website has an announcement with this news, and its written on the state department website as well.
