Ok so does this AP apply to Karachi US Visa office?

Its a standard procedure. Karachi or ISB does not matter.. All that matter is in PAKISTAN.... Mostly PAKISTAN has AP of 6-12months at minimum.... if some gets lucky, earlier, unlucky, its 2-3 years simply.....

The main thing is'' stay positive and believe in GOD and do the right''

But I believe not everyone gets AP'd for that long. It must be certain individual's cases depending on their circumstances.

Yes most definitional AP is different for each case. But AP does not necessarily mean something is wrong with your case. And you just applied for your wife so it's easy to be confident and feel your case is perfect and better than anyone else. But just wait a few months and then see how confident you are then.

Here is what Islamabad Embassy says about AP.

Administrative Processing is a standard procedure for all visa applications. It is a normal process and it does not mean anything is wrong with your case. Some cases take longer to process than others. Once the administrative processing has been completed, we will contact you immediately to let you know and will ask you to return your passport if we have not retained it. Once we have printed your visa, we will return your passport along with the visa packet via our approved courier service (American Express). If it has been more than 6 months since your interview, please e-mail us through our web-based e-mail submission form with your interview date and case number.

You can probably determine from this page what to kind of expect.

Hello everyone,

There are a few sayings in the Urdu language:

1 - Laato kay bhoot baato say nahin maantay

2 - Jab ghee seedhi ungli say na niklay to ungli tayri kerni perti hai (I think I may have totally messed this one up! lol)

Both of these apply to US Embassy, Islamabad. I contacted the embassy four-five times since I originally requested my fiance's passport back in April. No answer, no update, no nothing. I reached out to you guys asking what else could be done. As was advised on here, I reached out to my Senator's office. The immigration liaison officer called me. She is familiar with my case as we sent a request back in October of last year regarding the AP. She was pretty upset upon hearing the whole passport ordeal. Within one day, she sent an inquiry to the embassy. After exactly 8 days (the 8th day happens to be today) my fiance got a call from AMEX to come pick up the passport. 8 days.... really?? It would have taken these blundering fools 8 days to return my passport?? Why on earth did they not respond to my requests or that of my fiances? Why was it necessary to bring in the senator's office for this? I mean really? wow! Now you see why I mentioned the above two sayings and how it applies to the US Embassy in ISB. :)
