But i have seen few people here taking their spouses to their interviews. I dont know it is advisable or not .. My wife and 1 year old daughter are both USCs. so i thinking to bring both of them. Atleast they wont be as doubtful about the relationship as they are in many cases. But i am still confused.

Read the embassy website to see if your USC wife can go to the interview. In the past they did allow this. I would not take the child. I would take the birth certificate and copy of passport information page. Sometime you can wait for hours to be seen and that is very hard on a 1 year old.

I am so sorry you are going through this, the waiting and not knowing is horrible. I am so happy to hear though that you have had the opportunity to live with your husband for some time during this terrible process. Has the embassy requested any information from you since you have been in AP?

No the embassy has requested no information at all since our AP started. They said everything is fine withour case and nothing else is needed. Co also said that our visa will be issued within 2 months. Our case doesn't even update on its own. It only updates if I send an email and they read it.

Thanks for your advice. i am a male and already prepared for any worst scenario. I am planning to take my spouse with me on interview. Does it make any difference?

I am a U.S. citizen and I attended the interview with my husband but I don't think that MADE ANY DIFFERENCE because he is still in AP since 25 months... but you can take your wife with you they will allow her inside. Just make sure she takes he U.S. passport with her. I think you should leave your daughter by someone because it takes long at the Embassy and she will get irritated.

In my husbands case, at the interview the CO told my husband if I had been there it would have been better and even asked my husband why I didn't come with him to the interview.

Hello everyone,

Been a while. Quick question, I tried looking and wasn't able to find a concrete answer but generally how long does it take for the embassy to return the passport? Me and my fiance decided that we're simply done with the wait and are going to Dubai. I was born there and have my immediate family there and she has family there as well so it will be a breeze plus i'll be able to work from there (IT FTW). So, I requested her passport back on Friday. It's Wednesday and I haven't heard a peep from the embassy. We know all the negatives surrounding requesting the passport back and thought about this long and heavy but it is something we are moving forward with. So, If anyone has done so and might be able to provide me with a timeline, I'd appreciate it. All the best to all in AP and congratulations to all the ones I missed congratulating. I've been MIA lately. Work is something else these days. Plus let's not forget the MAUKA MAUKA back and forth that went on during the cricket world cup.

On a lighter note I also liken MAUKA MAUKA to AP. It fits! ;) Cheers to all! Stay strong!

They returned me the passport for Dubai travel as well in 5 working days but they did not call me or sent me any emailed intimation for the same...I just received a call from AMEX to come and collect the passport...

did your wife ask what she was being called for? If not, she should have, but from previous Vj posts, most probably its for a new fingerprints and oath. But just in case, she should take with her any evidence of ongoing relationship between u, like call records, emails etc, just in case they ask for it, but to answer ur question its for oath, not a second interview but sometimes when they call you to come to embassy for new fingerprints, they ask to provide evidence of ongoing relationship between you and your spouse, I would rather take it in case just to not give them any more reason to delay it.

best of lucK!
