does anyone know weather the ceac status always updates when a file is being looked at or worked on or can they be working on case without the status updating?

whenever they work case is updated no matter carried out from USA authorities or locally from US Emb Islamabad...

But few updates in a month are a good sign presenting the case is under process...

I've email the embassy a week before but they didn't reply me at all then I waited a week more right after I send another email on 11 march then got updated on 12 march and then today 13 march they finally response to inquiry please tell me guys what is about saying now (an integral

departmental process)? Here is email send by embassy

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email. However, as per our available record, this visa case is still under administrative processing (an integral departmental Process). Regrettably, this process is not waive able or expedite-able, and we are unable to predict the amount of time this process will require.

Although, we certainly understand the importance of family reunion, and also aware about the frustration caused by the delay. However, it is imperative to mention that as soon as this process is concluded, we will move forward in this case accordingly.

@yarm integral in this case means part of the process that administrative processing is part of the process.

I hope everyone is good. Sorry that i am on visa journey after a long time. I made it to the U.S a month ago and been busy sorting things and now finally looking for work.

Has anyone recently got visa ? I wish you all the best and come out of ap soon. Ameen.

No updates...I called nvc today to ask about the status and the lady told me their system is down and to try calling back later...I wonder if it's true

The CEAC date will only change when someone from the embassy works on the case.

That is actually a hopefull sign. If they are planning on issuing the visa you should get a call from the embassy in a few weeks from the date of receipt of your paperwork for oath and fingerprints.

Our case several times updated when we called to NVC and this update was not from Embassy…

Besides my case was being updated on this CEAC website before my interview while Embassy had not called me for interview that time…and that time these dates were being changed by authorities from USA (US Deptts.) not from US Embassy Islamabad…correct me if I am wrong but I think this update is not only by US Embassy but several departments involved.

The updates are mostly made by the embassy or if your file is updated by whichever department that is doing investigation. It is possible that your case was being worked on. For us our case only updated when we asked our congressman to inquire on our behalf, calling nvc did not update it.
