The embassy feels that in Pakistan everyone knows every bodies business. The embassy expects his neighbors to know that he is married to you. They expect that all Pakistani's have huge weddings. It's sad really. The Department of State travel site says to keep a low profile in Pakistan yet the embassy wants the whole neighborhood to know about you. My husband kept our marriage a secret from his neighbors and others because he was worried about our safety. When ever I went to Pakistan he kept a loaded gun in the house.

Yet the embassy says if people on the street and neighbors in Pakistan don't know he is married to an American woman it's fraud. It's stupid. We fought that by sending the embassy a copy of the Dept of State guidelines for Americans in Pakistan.

My husband doesnt know his neighbors and the neighbors dont know him, we are a private couple, we have kept a low profile with this case because people who do know us ask too many questions, and everyone including friends and family want to know what is going on. Informing people is the last thing on our mind, we just want to be with each other :(

Try not to worry! This might be a good thing! What's important is that they are working on your hubby's case and not ignoring it...Try staying positive. Everything will be ok :)They just love putting some cases through a hard and scary time before they issue the visa....

3 auto updates last one month and all docs r expired since year and half..i have full record..n no clue whatsoever where its heading..as i have had many many updates in past..

I am going to make my passport In sha Allah next week and during that I would have the required papers from my wife and then would give medical and would proceed In sha Allah.

did they gave you a date for an interview or you will be submitting all docs along with new passport and then they will schedule it??please clarify

Thats what I have been thinking, they want to make decision on case, so have been on it actively, and also our medical is expiring soon, so they have been very active since last week

thank you for your prayers.

Sarah we all know that you married your husband not for giving him immigration benefits and as long as its not a sham marriage then you dont need to worry.

Keep your nerves stable and act accordingly. Maybe they want to check whether the marriage is bonafide or not. So I would say that live one day at a time. They would know it from field investigation in sha Allah.

Also make dua to Allah as its not any human who can do anything negative or positive rather its only will of Allah that controls everything. I make dua to Allah SWT that Allah let you and your husband unite soon so that he can be with you in the US.

They didnt give me any date for interview as for the things which I need to provide can not be time bound like passport renewal, my family sending their tax returns after they get from IRS and then medical examination time may not be available soon. Therefore its not possible to give a pre-planned date for interview and in case if they would give such a date then maybe a person would visit US Embassy with nothing that was required from him.

So after getting all these things I would send them email and they would THEN schedule an interview and who knows for fingerprinting and oath taking but lets not expect too much as its not hard and fast that US Embassy would definitely give a visa even after the beneficiary provides everything 100%.

I dont think those scenarios match my case anymore, as they have started home visits :(

I need prayers badly now.

Now your scenario matches me bcoz we had afield investigation visit as well last year...My wife spent 10 months with me in her recent visit but Embassy's field investigation team went to wrong place and those neighbors there made them satisfied about our relation and marital information to be true and neighbors asked them to visit us where we are living and gave them our exact location...but they never came...they left satisfied and after their visit 8, more months passed...my wife sent them lot of emails to call both of us for a joint interview if they want but they never replied and she had to leave for USA 3 months before...now she is coming back to Pakistan again but we are still in AP...Total 18 Months in AP...

Be hopeful sister...we all are praying for you and you will get visa very soon iA
