AOA, everyone.

I am brand new to this site, so please pardon me if this wasn't the right place to ask this question.

My fiancee was approved (Alhumdulilah) at his interview in Islamabad at the end of December (right before Christmas). He was told InshaAllah he will receive his passport and visa in 7-10 days, but it is now 3 and a half weeks, and nothing yet.

The ceac update date has been updated 5 times since his interview, but it still says AP. (Most recently on the 15th) Still says IV, Administrative Processing.

I know InshaAllah it will come eventually, but I don't know why it's been so long, especially since he was approved, MashAllah.

Anyone else here approved in Islamabad in December and waiting for their visa? I would appreciate any information from anyone, please.

Sarach your question is great! I think even though they are both Pakistani and of the same religion and culture one lives in the United States and the other lives in Pakistan. The embassy can still say the marriage is for the purpose of getting a visa.

The embassy is not supposed to consider age difference but they do. The Pakistani must convence the interviewer that age or ability to have children does not matter. It's not right. In America we take pride in the fact that we are free to do as we choose as long as we are not breaking the law. I can marry a man 20 years younger than me in the United States with no problems but if I marry that same man and he is from another country the embassy gets upset. The embassy picks cases to make easy or hard. My friend Pat is Christian and married a Muslim Pakistani 20 years younger. He did 8 months of AP and got his visa. My husband and I fit the same type of case but it took me over 4 years to get him here.

Did your friend and her husband get any home visits, second interview or anything else while they waited in AP or was it just AP for a long time then vissa issued????

Carolyn sis maybe embassy staff doesnt like my face. That is why I am in AP for 42nd Month so far.

Awwwww, dont think like that, maybe you should get a lawyer to see whats going on I know no one can speed up AP but it can atleast loosen things up, pull the file out of the pile.

I know many have been waiting much longer than me, and I pray everyone gets good news soon, InshaAllah. I am just trying to make sense of my situation as I thought we'd have the visa by now. Thank you in advance for any help.

I think before they issue the visa the embassy will do a quick background check. Something may have come up on him or you and they have to investigate further. I know you must be worried sick but all you can do is wait.

My friend's husband didn't get any home visits or anything else he just waited in AP then the visa was issued. They never asked him if his wife was Muslim but they asked my husband if I was.

Getting a lawyer to help with AP is a waste of money. A congressman or senator is free and the embassy will answer their emails.

We are praying for us all in AP to get our ISSUED's....many of you that post here don't have timelines. I'm trying to find out approximately the average AP is, can everyone post please? Or if they know someone who finished AP, how long did it take? My husband is in Bangladesh, they are having lots of political violence right now, and it's so dangerous. I try not to worry cuz all is in Allah's hands, so all I can do is Pray. :clock: We've been in AP more than 7 months now. :crying:

Some of the people in this thread have faced and our facing very long APs, from what I remember, I have seen one month APs all the way up to four year APs but average-6-12 months. Everyones cases are different.

I feel your pain, my husband is in AP since 4 and half months, no updates lately, political situation in Pakistan also a big mess these days. We can only hope for the best. Have you been getting any updates on your case?

There really is no average time for AP. Each case is handled differently. I am sorry you have been in AP so long.

Salaam all frnds,

I received my Visa in mid Nov and now i am in USA. I had a long AP wait but thanks to Allah it finally ended.

i want to suggest all my friends who are living in Gulf that they should transfer their case to the country they are working or living. It might help them to get visa faster.

Wish everyone best of luck
