hello again everyone!
Just a reminder of my case, 4/5 people in our case were issued visa back in August 2013. 5th person was our mother whose case is oddly still undergoing AP.
I went there and now I'm back after 3 weeks. Got my SSN, Green Card and driver's license.
For SSN(Social Security Number), technically the portion of SSN on the visa application form should be enough but in our case it wasn't so after waiting for some time we went to SSN office and filed for it and received it 3,4 days later. We paid the GC fees as soon as we got the passports back so our GC came in just 3 weeks after arrival. Wishing you all best of luck :)

Your case updated because of the reply to your email from the embassy, otherwise, just sending an email, and not getting a reply, wont update the date.

Can someone else confirm what sarah said its true.. because I spoke to immigration expert . He said embassy will just email you saying that your case is still under AP. They dont necessarily update the case. They only update the cased if it is worked on.

Whenever I email them or call Nvc they just say its under review and AP we CNT tell u anything except this . This info can b known from even the ceac web .. can anybody here tell me how much time it takes for approving joint sponsor after interview ?

If the CO keeps all the original documents, at what point are they returned? do they get sent back with when visa is issued via the courier?

Usually At the end of your interview ,CO will return the originals , if not give CO , the photocopies of the original which you brought there and ask for the originals. He/she will return you the originals then and there. If any one have different experience they r welcome to share too.Good luck.
