Ukraine Police Certificate

I hope you folks can help us; or give us some guidance---I recieved a SMS from N. this morning. She had finally recieved her police certificate, and was ready to request the interview from the embassy.

The SMS read:

"in police lawyer tell me that I need papers from my parents. Permit. if they not work."

The only thing that comes to my mind is the "exit visa" stamp --- but I thought that was involving taxes that might be owed to Ukrainian government. All the embassy cares about the police certificate is that she does not have an outstanding record.

Have any of you heard about this?

She is trying to get more info--

perhaps this is an internal Ukraine thing---not wanting the elderly parents to be unsupported; or perhaps the lawyer wants a "gift" to help with this other document?

My fiancees parents are both pensioners and do not work. She has not made any kind of mention of something like this to me when she went to the police station... a bit confusing... I think you need additional clarification

since we're on the topic about police report from ukraine, i have a question too

my fiance is a citizen of israel and lives there for the past 7-8 years and before that he used to live in ukraine ( was born there) how can he get his police report from ukraine if he's not a ukrainian citizen anymore and can someone else get that paper for him if he'll send some notarized documents allowing someone else to pick it up.

Police and prison records are kept by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine. Immigrant visa applicants from Ukraine obtain police certificates at their local OVIRs (Office of Visas and Registration). Applicants outside Ukraine have to apply for police certificates through the nearest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate
