Guys I need some advice or help. I am in the k1 process with my fiancé. He's in Pakistan and I applied for a tourist visa to visit him again. I sent everything but I still have not reviewed my visa. The first time I applied I got the visa back in a few days. Now it has been more than three weeks and still I'm waiting for the visa. I have emailed and called the consulate every day for two weeks and all they will say is that it is being processed. Does anybody else have any clue what's going on or any similar experience. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Seriously? If you don't have a reply then no need to be rude. I am not immigrating to Pakistan and my fiancé is immigrating to the U.S. this forum is for immigration and I am allowed to ask. Nobody forced you to be rude.

The whole visa journey? Or just this area? This just seems silly that I have a question about getting a visa to see my foreign fiance which I'm sure other people have done. It makes sense to me that other people might have come across issues trying to see their loved ones while waiting for their K1 or CR1 visas to be processed. And all anyone wants to say is no you can't ask. This is not nice. I feel badly enough already and you all are making it worse. So now just forget it. Thanks a lot

It's not as easy to get a visa to Pakistan as it used to be. The problem might be that you are a single woman and didn't get married when you last went to Pakistan. Keep calling and checking the status. Really that is all you can do at this point.

I am sorry people were rude to you. Yes you can ask questions about travel to see your loved one it just has to be in the proper spot.

Nobody was rude, or said you cannot ask; what they said is that it may be difficult to get answer, because this website, VisaJourney, is about visas to the USA, not to other countries.

I don't really have any advice for you, but I believe they say it can take 4 or more weeks to get. I tried to get a visa to visit my then fiance last year and had a horrible time. It drug on for months. They went to his house 2x in Pakistan to investigate him. My husband actually got his K-1 visa to the US before I could get the visit visa to PK so I just ended up cancelling the visa request and had to fight with them for over a month to get my passport back. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I'm hoping that it will be easier to get a visit visa now that we're married. I hope yours comes through soon!

It depends on where you filed your visa application. Did you file to the Washington, D.C. Embassy or one of the consulates? I know I applied at the embassy because of where I lived I had to file there. On their website it says it can take 4-6 weeks but of the two times I applied ( twice in the USA and renewed my visa inside Pakistan and recently got a 1 year extension) I have always received my passport back within 12 days. The consulate websites say it only takes 7-10 days but I don't have experience with them. I applied once when I was my now husbands fiancé and once after marriage. Each time I applied I submitted an invitation letter and flight details etc, and when we married I submitted a copy of our nikah nama. Did you submit an invitation letter or anything with your visa application. As

Carolynhottstuff said it isn't always easy to get a visa to Pakistan especially if you are a single lady traveling alone but it helps if you have an invitation letter as I'm not sure they grant tourist visas unless you have an invitation letter.

Even when I was my now husband's fiancé, they never investigated his home in Pakistan but maybe it's changed?

I have experience with Pakistan visas so if you have more questions you can PM me.

Well I think these were not nice comments "this is not pakistan immigration forum". If you can't give someone a positive response you should not say which hurts others..

Anyways coming back to the topic....my wife applied for tourist visa to come to pak for wedding...It took a little over two weeks. But she had to call everyday and even she physically travelled to new York to inquire about it. She got the visa just two days before the travel date. Second time she submitted marriage certificate and got visa in 5 days. I would suggest if you have not submitted invitation letter send one to the embassy and ask to consider it.

Yeah I was really freaking out about it. Waiting for the K1 is hard and then waiting for my visa to go see him too, it's just added stress. So I was hoping to find some advice and support. Usually people post on here and someone moves it around to different forums. Thanks a lot you guys for being supportive. I really needed that.

I had a letter of invitation from my fiance and sent that to the Houston consulate based on my location. I sent it here with a similar letter back in May also. I also sent a copy of his passport. Everything I did this time I had done the last time without any issues. My only thought was maybe they are taking longer because this is my second visa within a year? I'm just hoping everything works out okay. It's kinda stressful because I am hoping to leave in two weeks.

Hi, i do not know if you got a response from the embassy yet, but I will happily share with you my experience. So a little background, I am not yet married and am a woman. Also, I am a gora (what I see often referred to as pure american). Luckily I live very close to new york city. So, I brought my application in person to the embassy. I filled out the application form- some advice on this only request a 1 month 1 entry visa. I was told before if i asked for anything more it would surely be denied. I brought a copy of my passport, my passport, money order for the application fee, the application, my passport picture, bank statements for 3 months, job letter for myself, and from my fiance I had (YOU MUST BRING THE ORIGINALS WITH HIS SIGNATURES A COPY WILL NOT SUFFICE AND DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTESTED) his job letter, CINC copy, and invitation letter. The people who I gave my application to asked me a couple questions, how we met why I am going to Pakistan and stated do I know islamic culture is very different from american. I answered his questions and informed him that I am aware, and actually have spent a lot of time in the UAE (Dubai). I asked the man how fast I should expect to get my visa, and asked if it was possible for me to pick up my passport later that day. They said it was impossible and gave me a receipt and said I should start calling in a week to check on it. I got a call at work the next day asking for my job proof, I told the man on the phone that I had brought that information to the embassy but the guy who took my papers handed it back to me. The man on the phone said I could email it to them, which I did promptly. They mailed my visa/passport to me that same day using the USPS tracked envelope I provided. If you have any more questions let me know I would be very happy to help. As a question to you, which cities did you say you were visiting- this could have a BIG impact on if/when you get your visa.
