Hi guys i recieved my case number from NVC but idk what to do next the girl was suppose to transfer me but it got disconnected. Anyone knows what is next??

I'm not sure what the individual process is for your embassy, but once you have your case number you can track it via the CEAC. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

It typically won't show up until the case has arrived and been logged into the embassy though. I would assume that you would receive a notification from your embassy with further instructions (like complete your medical, do your DS160 etc) once it is there. The NVC is also supposed to send a letter letting you know they sent it along - don't count on that letter though. You may receive one letter, no letters, or ten copies depending on how much coffee the office person has drank I guess.

So i just got a weird email from the traveldocs website saying that they would reply to my enquiry within two business days - but i didn't send an enquiry.

They also sent me an email saying they had to reschedule my visa interview (to later on the same day).

I replied confirming that i can attend the rescheduled time and i figured the first email was just a glitch.

I should also mention my travel docs account has no information on it. I have paid my visa fee and have my interview scheduled but none of this is shown on my traveldocs account.

Is this normal?

Are they likely to reschedule me again? Its pretty tight time wise now with my flights as it is with the new appointment time..

LOL Yuna!! So true. But now apparently it shows when it's at NVC or when it leaves. I think they fixed the system... for now... I think they've finally stopped sending me letters, too. Maybe it was the NVC email update that came TWO MONTHS late, lmao!! They were probably like "oh, we sent her the standard 10 mailings already AND an email update 2 months later, so we're good for now."

Also- s_kimberley, call your consulate. I wouldn't do anymore email transactions or confirmations without calling them first because you never know! It probably is them trying to reschedule, but unless you can't contact your consulate, it's better to call them to confirm. No one here can tell you because your individual case is different than others, so I'm sure it IS possible to have to reschedule, but it's best to call them to find out. :)

Yep, it's fixed! Mine said "At NVC" earlier tonight, it now shows "In Transit". [insert extremely over the top excited noises here] Though when I try the tracking trick, there is no package yet. So I guess it'll show up tomorrow after DHL does their pickup. I don't even think we have received our NVC letter yet. They probably used up their postage quota for the month with mailing Allie 200 different letters. ;)

What is the VisaDocs thing? I have seen it referenced twice, but have NO clue what it is.

Is it the ustraveldoc you are referring to?

If so, then that's where you schedule your interview appointment and pay your visa fee :)

I've got it! Unfortunately I have to wait until it hits the embassy to send them packet 3 back before I can set my interview date. I filled out my packet 3 form and signed 9 different copies with different dates and had them all set up as drafts in my email with the confirmation page, so that the second it hits the consulate, I can hit send for whatever day that happens to be. Lol. I'm slightly obsessed and organized at this point. I wish I could do it ahead of time like you. I'm going crazy waiting.

I wish it would be the same for every consulate, it would be so much easier to help people!

I have to wait till it arrives at the consulate to be able to schedule an interview.. :/ it kills me knowing that it probably wouldn't make any difference if I scheduled it now!

What do you have to send back to them? Forms and stuff?

I'm crazy organized. As we are speaking I'm putting all the interview papers in separate folders and makes front pages to every folder so that they can see what is inside ?

It would be SO nice if it were the same for all. Like for instance, at the Vancouver consulate, we get a packet 3 checklist, which is basically just a checklist of everything we need for the interview. You have to acknowledge each item on the list, add your case number and confirmation number from the DS160 then send that back to them with the DS160 confirmation page. Then they send you packet 4, which is just a link to the interview scheduling site where you pay for your fee, and then book your interview. I can't even book my medical until AFTER I have an interview date. Yours is so different from mine. You've already finished your medical.

Lol, I did that a few weeks ago! I have everything organized in one of those expanding folders for the stuff such as financial documents, birth certificate, etc. And then a binder with tabs and such for my proof of relationship. I am just waiting on my financial stuff from my fiance. Which he will send next week when we have a date. I also packed my house a few weeks ago except for what I need for the next couple of months. I'm running out of things to keep me occupied now. I have resorted to wearing my wedding dress around the house and twirling around. I wish I was kidding.

Wow that's a long and complicated way to do it..

They also advised me to wait until I get the packet 3 from the embassy until I should schedule my medical.. But I heard from the other Danish VJ people that I could go ahead and get it done.. Then it would be at the embassy waiting for me :)

You can start finding shoes and jewelry for the dress :P (you are not the only one finding excuses to wear THE dress)

It's hard to wait! Now we are so close to the finish line, we just want to run faster than ever :D

It seems like an overly complicated way of doing it. I have seen other embassies work in a far more effective way. I was surprised that Canada was so difficult. And the waits are horrible. Have you checked your file through the CEAC site tonight to see if your file is on its way to the embassy as well?

I haven't found shoes yet, so I suppose I do have that left. Thank goodness I have something. Lol. I am glad I'm not the only one who is looking for an excuse to wear it. (any excuse really.) It's impossible to wait. We have been waiting sooo long, it's time for it to end, and for us all to finally get married.

Yes it really does sound unnecessary for it to be so complicated!

Yes I checked it some times today, it's still "at NVC"

I'm thinking that it will leave tmrw or Thursday. Don't you think? What should be a reason for it to take any longer?

I'm afraid that my dress won't fit me anymore, after I've been comfort eating thru this long process ? so I try it on regularly to make sure it still fits, lol!
