With the holidays coming up there's a lot to keep me busy, but not enough to distract me. I've broken down to tears several times.. I think it's especially worse now that the website doesn't work properly at all. I've been purchasing little things here and there for our wedding and trying to keep upbeat, but it's hard. We've waited this long afterall.. this wait should be a piece of cake right? And yet, it's still a miserable thing...

........Quickly? Where? Not TSC. Lol. No Oct files have been touched other than the expedited ones.... They're still processing June & July. Oct files won't be touched until February.

Ugh, I feel you :( I think the part that is hardest for us TSC filers, at least for me, is watching the other quick approvals. Honestly it probably wouldn't be so bad if the system wasn't SO unfair. It hits us ten times harder when we see how people filing after us got their approvals so quick.. ALL because they're in another state or country, while we all spend holidays and months apart. So unfair.

I feel awful for those who are trying to keep up a relationship with a time difference, too. I've tried it before I met my fiance with a guy from Ukraine, which was an 8 hr time difference. It was almost impossible for us to keep up with.

We just all have to stay busy and keep remembering that these are the LAST holidays we'll be apart.. then we'll have a lifetime together full of them (L)(L)(L) .

8 hours? Jesus. I don't feel so bad about my two hour difference any more. Before you say two hours isn't much XD it's because I work day and he works nights, so by the time I get in from work he's off to his job and won't be back until 2am my time, but I have to be sleeping to be up for 6. Some times I sleep as soon as I get in so I can be up late with him but I don't sleep well outside my normal sleeping hours, and I don't wanna do sleep pills...I work with them and I see how they mess up people.

Wow .. I hate to rain on anyone's parade at this point, but once you receive NOA2 there is still a long wait. I received NOA1 on 10/6, NOA2 on 11/10 (Philippines K1). I thought she would be here by Christmas for sure.

A couple of weeks later, 11/21, I got notice from USCIS that my petition had been sent to NVC. They waited that long before sending everything for a period of time in one lump. Okay, fine - I guess.

Next, I've been calling NVC to attempt to get a case number. Yesterday, the NVC finally received it (12/3). The lady that gave me that good news said it would be maybe 45 days before I get a case number.

So those that are frustrated with the Texas Service Center be forewarned .. the Texas Service Center for K1 might be the quickest process off all the processes. Sorry for any parade-raining I'm doing.

Considering that most of us won't get NOA2 until at least Feb/Mar TSC is the longest leg, DoS processing is lengthy, but based on the figures no where near as lengthy as TSC is going to make us wait.

Sigh

I threw together a spreadsheet today to track my timeline and estimate dates for the remaining stages of the process. Based on the uscis processing time and the estimates for nvc and the london embassy from here, I came up with April 25, 2015 for NOA2 and August 3, 2015 for the interview date.

Of course since this was largely based on averages reported here (which I take with a huge grain of salt, but it's all I have to go on), it could swing widely either way. It's going to be a long road for a lot of us.

Ah! Any time difference is killer! Fortunately my fiance and I don't have a time difference. That 8 hrs was when I was seeing a guy from Ukraine! That was super hard. But we don't have any time difference between Jersey & Ecuador :)

Also- we are lucky that our consulate is fast! Sorry that some of you have to wait months for an interview :( Did you check current processing times for your consulate? VJ has a page on it. Apparently Ecuador only takes 2 weeks to schedule an interview once they get the application, and the visa can be given very quickly after. So once we get the NOA2 it should go quickly!

Hopefully it comes soon for all of us! :)

Yea Barbados is fast too only two weeks, I guess those long wait ones are from high traffic conuls like in UK or something.

Exactly! Ecuador literally has 2 people waiting on a fiance visa (edit: JUST on VJ, that is. maybe there's more, but probably not many. there aren't too many of them in Ecuador!), and we're one of them, LOL. They do have a good amount of people applying for other visas, but they have 2 consulates, and the one that's for immigrant visas (which they classify K1 as) doesn't have as many people applying for immigrant visas as they do for nonimmigrant visas, so that's probably why the wait time is short. Thank goodness!!

GUYS! So excited!! I was able to get a flight to Ecuador for Christmas! Thankfully I was able to get work for this month to have the money for the ticket and still have off work for 2 weeks for Christmas & New Years! Though it costed a lot more than normal for a plane ticket, I'm so glad to be able to see my fiance for a little less than 2 weeks for the holidays before more waiting of the NOA2 :)

Hope everyone else is able to visit their sweethearts for the holidays! If not, just remember this will be the last one that you're apart... ever! No more long distance after this, guys! (L) !

Great news! Congrats!

I sometimes wonder if it would be of any use to write to my Congressman asking for help with speeding this along on the basis that I do feel it unfair that others are getting quick turnarounds and that it's not my fault my case was routed to Texas. They seriously need to get their ### in gear. My guy and I have a 14 month old son and have been living apart since June 2013. Due to outside forces, we weren't able to file for a K-1 visa till just this October.

Thankfully he has been able to spend 2 week vacations with us and we visited him once but it seriously sucks. Always when he has come to visit, they stamp his visa for 6 months. I'm curious as to how much time they will give him (if all goes well) when he comes in a few weeks. We want to be a family already and have him share in the experience of watching our son grow.

Oct 2007 - Met online via OkCupid and then at coffee house in Austin

Dec 2010 - He moved back to Mexico

July 2011 - I moved to Mexico

June 2013 - Moved back home to prepare for birth of our child

Sept 2013 - Our baby arrived!

16 Oct 2014 - Mailed I-129F

Im thinking of doing the same thing. Of course we can't base our letters on our dates being past due but I see no reason why we can't write to highlight the injustice of the current processing procedures and ask for help making the system better and more fair. I'm also quite worried about how the new DACA petitions will affect us all. Check this out to see how they affected I-129fs at CSC last time around. Not sure what the effect was at TSC then but if it happened at CSC it could happen to us too.

I also want to urge my congressman not to support a government shut down. That won't help us. I think we might be in a lose-lose situation here.
