The closer we get the more scary and frustrating things become. Your life is on hold waiting on someone to look at your papers. Trying to keep positive. It IS reassuring to know others are waiting too, but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm tired of being in a relationship with my phone.

Well considering that they have a hard time with the mathematics of how long it has been since you've sent a petition in, nothing surprises me.

In fact my NOA 1 hardcopy ''case received date'' has a completely different date to the one that was logged online, the one that the USCIS told me it was, and from the one that was listed in the NOA 2 notice today.

The big bin thing is the only part that makes sense as to how the system is such a mess. I don't know how anyone could function in an office that way..

They are such a joke. I did a count today, per the last processing update, csc was behind normal processing time on 1 petition type while tsc was behind on 8.

All of my US ones were notarized. It definitely makes it 'look' more official, but I don't know if it's necessarily 'required'. I'd do it to be safe, though, if you can! For any non-USCs/non-US residents, I know it can be extremely costly and difficult to do so in some countries, like it was for us in Ecuador, so we didn't bother notarizing those. They should be signed and translated into English if in Spanish, though!

These letters can be a great piece of evidence, so it's good to get a few together if you can! I think we had 7 altogether (4 USCs; 3 Ecuadorians), including one from my parents and Santy's parents, and then the others were ones from friends who knew us well. It's good to have a mix of both. We definitely front loaded, lol, so you obviously don't need to have 7 different references! Even just one is fine, but it may be good for the interview and such to have a couple, just in case!

We only did it as a piece of evidence, recommended by our lawyers. It's good to hear other people instead of just the couple confirming the relationship. I've never heard of it as a requirement or them specifically ask for something like that, but it was probably just a lack of evidence on their part and USCIS maybe wanted to specifically see references from others as a piece of evidence. I just say it's good to have them as an added piece of evidence for the consulate in particular.

I sent plenty of evidence chats calls and pictures but they asked for this as well. I am sending two letters from DR and getting the rest here my mom is writing letter as well. They also asked me to send information about a possible vuenue. Luckily my wedding planner paid for my venue and the church as a wedding gift. Praise God for that

That sounds like more than enough I think!

And that's awesome! Seriously what a great gift!

We gave all contracts we had for our ceremony celebration (separate from the civil, of course) like venue, photography, videography, dj, and even a save the date! But it's funny they wanted a possible venue contract, since those who are getting married when they receive the visa and not separate obviously can't make those plans until they have it!!

I don't think anything needs to be notarized. But I'm gonna take a step back and ask you if you both sent letters of intent with original signatures? Whenever I see people being asked for proof of the wedding/venue, it is usually in the context of proof intent to marry and the two letters of intent satisfy the requirement.
