I have a question!

There's an American consulate in my town, and there's the embassy in Paris.

Where do you think I'll be likely to go for my interview? Consulate or embassy?

Re: the medical ..I rang my embassy in Dublin to ask if a pre NAO2 medical was allowed and they stipulated it is but expires in 6 months ......I think you should ask the ecadore embassy as it might vary! Ireland tends to be a bit laid back and they might be more rigid in their procedures in other countries.

This may be worth checking if you haven't asked the Embassy.. in London, the K1 expires (POE into USA) 6 months from the medical. I'd hate to see you do the medical too early if Dublin follows the same procedure as London and then have to really scramble to make POE or more unexpected delays come up and you have to re-do it.

Guys, we've said all of this already. Check out the list of approved filers on here. There are September, October, and November filers being approved. The majority that I've been seeing right now are August & Sept, with some Oct and Nov thrown in. Keep updated there, not on the USCIS website. They always say we're within processing time to cover their butts! :P

I always though K1 visas were approved quicker than Spousal visas and that was the general understanding.

If what the information is saying is true, then Spousal visas from Nov. are already being approved.

If only we knew.......would have saved so much time and money. Ughh....

Maybe. That recent transfer involved a lot of I-130's though. That may be the cause of that speed.

We considered the same thing, but it's not quite as simple as that. The spousal visas may (or sometimes may not) progress faster through the service center, but they spend longer at NVC, while the I-129F petitions are forwarded to the consulate for an interview to be scheduled. Spouses of US Citizens have to go through AOS before they go for their interview. This draws out the process so it does tend to take longer for spouses from filing to visa in hand than it does for a K1 application.
