Houses or apartments to rent so far. Not that we'll be able to as soon as he's arrived, but it's nice to dream. It would be nice to find a place around my family, but affordability is worrying. The biggest thing really is where he'd be able to find work.

Currently he's telling me he's about to be promoted to a new position within his company that would pay more, so that's nice for the rest of the period of time while we're waiting, but it's even longer hours. Extra savings for the future at least. 176 days since we filed this thing and still counting... so sick of this..

Does his work know he's leaving? Daniel would be up for a promotion too but he's been so open about leaving that they aren't going to give it to him if it comes available before he moves. Makes me feel guilty to be holding him back.

I really want to get one too, but I was really reluctant to get one, knowing I am about to move, sometime soonish, anyways. I didnt want to have to put it through the travel-in-the-cargo-hold experience.

Yes they do, though he's given them no timeframe. I do feel he has been passed up for promotions before because of this though, so we'll see if they are telling the truth this time. I figure it's worth a shot, and having another skillset and title under his belt would look good on a CV.

Definitely worth a shot. Daniel and I have talked about what we would do in that event and we considered stalling the process along the way if it happened in such a way that he could get like 6 months under the new job, if possible. Tough but absolutely worth trying. Good luck to him with it!

This process sucks. It puts lives on hold and separates loved ones for unnecessarily long periods of time based purely on "luck". Oh, and also if you are willing to look the other way and sneak in the unofficial way.

178 days as of today .... my time line predicts April 2nd to May 15th ... I feel the end is very soon!!! ..... on the note of careers Im leaving behind a permanent government job with 28 days annual leave ( in addition to public holidays) and 8 months salary maternity leave !! Don't think America will be that generous to me !! Can't have everything I guess ...

Guys! Call the 1-800 number. My case was transferred but it's not updated online. So they can see if yours has been!

Wow! Kristin which number do you mean--the one listed with case status for calling if you don't receive your notice?

Did they say anything about their expectation of how long it would take to get approved?

Sorry guys at work. Main USCIS #, Tier 1, he said he can see the transfer but not to where. He said he knows nothing till system is updated but I confirmed 3 times that he did see transfer. Took me a sec to get him to understand. He wasn't the brightest but very nice, once he got me then he found it. Said at first officially it's 30-40 days till notice lol they suck but at least he found it.
