How quickly does the USCIS move through the month being processed?

do they review cases week by week like the nvc? Or everything is random?

It is usually a bit random, but follows some sort of pattern. However over the last 4-6 weeks they just seem to be all over the place with the petitions they are working on.

Hi guys!

Did you read the transfer thread talking about TSC possibly transferring applications? It's giving me such a headache, to be honest. I think everyone is basing their info on last time's transfer, when that was one time. Everyone has all of a sudden become a USCIS expert, LOL. I'm not bothering with that thread.

Anyways, why am I still reading people saying that they're only in August??? From Igors, August looks pretty much done, and Sept is well on its way (obviously just the VJ sample, and not every filer that exists, so who knows? hahah). I honestly think they've picked up the pace a lot (took them long enough). It's not just super random that 3 Oct filers have been approved; it looks like they're already almost half way through Sept (okay, maybe not half way through yet, hahah, but getting there!), and the 3 Oct filers that were approved are very early October, so I don't think it'll be much longer for us. I don't really care much about this transfer business now. I don't think it'll affect us Oct filers much.

NOA2s can't come soon enough!!!

Sadly, there are still some July and August filers waiting. There have been some September approvals, but a relatively small percentage of them. I do think the October filers are random. However, with the news of the transfers, I do hope that there is benefit to the rest of you still waiting. Even five months is a ridiculous amount of time for someone to wait to have some papers looked at to get permission to apply for a visa.

That's a given, though. Of course they're still waiting. Unfortunately a small percentage of people still wait after the majority is approved. Someone gave us that data a while ago. I'm not talking about that small percentage, though. I'm talking about the fact that they've seemed to pass august already. Doesn't mean they're 100% finished but as April has said, when 3/4 have been approved here and the next month is being approved, I consider that next month to be on it's way. Besides that, a good amount of sept filers have been approved from what I've seen, so I disagree- oct is not totally random. We're next in line, so yeah, some are thrown in there. Out of order, of course, since we all know that USCIS offices are just a bunch of desks filled with bins of applications lololol

So sorry you guys had to wait over 200 days! That dec/jan time was the worst. They slowed down so much. It really screwed with the processing time. Thankfully now they're picking it up, as the infamous Josh had told us would happen. Hahah

Ps- I totally agree that even 5mo is ridiculous. When we started 5 months was crazy, but now it would be preferred over this 7 month business.

Well, we waited, but we are out of there now, so we are moving along :)

Here's hoping that even those not transferred are dealt with sooner. We really don't want to see others waiting. We know how awful it is and gain nothing from seeing other couples going through the same needless, extended wait. We really just want to offer you all our support, regardless of how this turns out, while hoping for the very best for all of you yet to be approved.

I really do not get the argument how they are speeding up - they may have slowed the slow-down (*lol*) - but how are they faster? Maybe I am just missing something here.

Averages are still gradually increasing to ~220d by now.

Yes, it's been a slow increase over the last 2 months, but the pace is still increasing, and I'm choosing to be grateful for that. You can see that when you look at the data. Josh (that guy that did all the data research) told us this would happen. I'm predicting it to get to 6 month processing soon instead of the 7 months that it's at right now. Again, this isn't for EVERY filer, but for the 'majority'. Small steps! :)

Thanks!

when getting the petition together I was worried about getting a RFE, but after waiting 5 months it is like a sigh of relief..at least I know that our case was looked at. This process is so random.

One question...after submission of the RFE info. How long is the wait for review? Is it 60 days like the NVC? Also, will I get an email letting me know that the USCIS received the info?

Good luck to everyone waiting. Hopefully more of us October filers will get NOA2 or at least an RFE soon.

Well, you do need to get your RFE approved. Hopefully within one month of submission, then through NVC and to the embassy - another month. For the embassy stage, it is country dependent, I'd say 1-2 months. So 4 months in total-ish.

Yeah, I really don't see where TSC has sped up. Approvals are now at 220 days. When Josh was running his numbers it was 185 days. And TSC has been so scattered the last couple weeks. I'm feeling really down about the process right now. I know that has more to do with Daniel leaving from his visit tonight, though.

I do believe the efforts made by the team, av8or1, kristinD and stef-curls mostly, have tipped the scales. It's pretty cool to think that so many of us here who made noise have actually made an impact that will hopefully benefit a lot of others. We knew when we were doing it and through ALL the dozens and dozens of naysayers and haters that our efforts might be too late to help our own cases but we felt we had to do something anyway. Cheers to the skunkworks and all the others who pitched fits with their representatives.

Now let's all just breathe and wait to see what the impact will be.

The fact that people are seeing approvals at 6 months rather than 7, and that predicted times are around 6... that's a difference, guys.

Sorry you're feeling down, April, but they are getting there! Slower than they should be, but they are! Josh predicted it to get slower (all the holidays, of course) than to speed up in March, which as we're seeing some Oct filers being approved (or RFEs- congrats on hearing something! hahah!), that's a 6 month mark. That's speeding up from the last few months, where it was over 7 months wait.

It could be around the 6 month mark for some of us, so I'm not discouraged by that! I'm not going to keep saying it, though, because I'm not about to jinx it, hahaha. Keep everyone posted, Oct filers! :)
